It's ok for other family members to leave early without all the questions, but if we do it, oh my. Why can't a person just go after visiting for 4 or 5 hours? Isn't that enough time? I like to unwind at home for the evening.
Having two meals at the same place on the same day does seems a bit silly.

We used to have to go to both my families and my husbands' side of the family on every holiday. It's been kind of nice not having to do that for the last three years now. We don't go visit them at all anymore due to an ongoing family feud. But that's a story for another time...

My favorite machine is the Wheel of Fortune. I always play the full $10 each time because if you only play $5 and you land on a spin, you don't get to spin for the chance at the extra cash and that's where the big money usually is. When I was there a couple weekends ago, I won $4,500 on that machine and it was all from the spins. Another plus is that the highest amount you can win on the wheel when you spin is $1,195 so if you get that, you don't have to claim it since it's not over $1,200 won in one spin. Does that make sense? So, I didn't have to claim any of what I won last time because it was all on different spins. Sometimes, I do play the dollar Wheel of Fortune but the highest you can win on those is $1,000 and they don't seem to pay out as often...at least not when I played them.
I guess I'm a bit of a chicken to play big money. I don't like to lose much. I played the nickel machines today. I figured I would try those and see how I did before playing quarters. I've only played dollar machines once in Vegas and I lost it very fast.

Today my husband and I decided to start with only $20 each and when that was gone, then time to quit playing. I pretty much ended up with what I started with.

You were better off than most people who go there then. You can always tell who has lost by the looks on their faces when they come out of the casino.

Before we went, I asked my husband how much he wanted to spend today and he said he didn't know. Then I asked him how much are you comfortable losing? That's when he came up with spending $40. We weren't there very long, just a couple of hours at the most. Just wanted to give it a try. The only casinos that I've been in were Vegas, Reno and Tahoe.

I have to tell you about something else a couple of the floor walkers/security guards at Ho Chunk told me awhile back. They said that there are people who come in there to play the slot machines that are so superstitious that they won't leave their machines for anything...not even to go to the bathroom. That wouldn't be a problem if they held it, but there are some that go there that actually "go" there...right there in the chairs they are sitting on! Yep! I could hardly believe it, but they swear it happens. They also said that some of the more hardened gamblers will wear adult diapers so they don't have to leave a machine and run to the bathroom! I told my husband that if I ever get that bad, then he better lock me away in a padded room somewhere and throw away the key!

Good Morning,
Making a stop in to say hi, been looking for full time work. Looks like I'm not alone. Changing carriers sucks at this piont in life. Not even going there. Don't want to hear my own problems anymore.
As far as a superstition that would keep me from useing the facilities, would have to had paid off once, probably twice, before I would put much faith in the discomfort.
Any Way Off to Post.

Always would go to Ho-chunk outside Barraboo. Hit the quarter slots, at four in the morning. Get myself out in front of the cash carts, the one's emptying the machines. Just keep ten machines or so between the cash carts, and your play Machine. The cash cart moves, I move. Never more then ten, ma by fifteen coins a machine. Nice thing is you get the whole place to yourself. Sundays, are the best. Been known to walk away with a breakfast or two on Ho chunk.

Oh yeah, one of those glazed ones that looks like a twist. How about a chocolate eclair? mmmm
LOL I was all excited to get on here tonight and try to catch up with everything and fell asleep after American Idol. LOL

Anyways, thanks everyone, even though I tried to keep up by stopping at my daughters and checking on her computer it's great to be back to my own computer desk.

As far as donuts? Well, haven't stopped at Dunkin Donuts in years but this calls for a celebration! Let's eat a box full.

yes after each spin or every couple to few spins tap on the card & it clears, giving you a brand new card, do that as often as you like. I usually stick with a certain number in the right corner, not just one number but a few i consider good luck for myself, whether that means clearing the card 5+ times or just once (changes with each tap), that seems to work for me. I've changed it after each spin & sometimes stick with the same card for a few spins, just depends on how i'm feeling at that moment.

That's what I don't understand. Why don't they just grab one of the floor walkers to hold their machine while they go to the bathroom? That's part of what they're there for. I've done that and then just gave them a tip for doing it. Or even ask the person who's playing next to you to keep an eye on it. I've done it for lots of people and have had others do it for me. You can tell from the way the other players are acting if they are honest enough plus they have cameras watching all the time anyhow. That's why I like to play in the high stakes room. The people there know me and are usually hanging around talking to me anyhow plus the bathroom is right there so you don't have to run across the casino to find one.

We used to take our youngest son to Ho Chunk with us too when he was in middle school. We would go eat lunch or supper there first and then he would go play at the arcade while we went into the casino. He really enjoyed doing that and we still do it sometimes when he's home from college. He's only 20 and still can't go into the casino. He could play Bingo but he has no desire to gamble which I'm glad about. Some people take it too far and don't know when to stop.

An elderly lady I know had such a gambling problem that she maxed her credit cards out and her kids had to pay them off for her. They didn't know she was even gambling until a concerned friend of hers told them. Sad.

Morning Everyone...

Such a beautiful crisp Spring Day out today. The sun is shining so bright.

Remember back a month ago or so when we were all groaning...Is it Spring yet?

Well guess what??? IT'S SPRING!

Good morning to you too! Someone must be having a good day today. LOL Nice to see you have such a positive attitude Patti.

I am so happy that we finally have Spring like weather. The cats are excited too. I was finally able to open the window by the bird feeder yesterday, so they spent quite a bit of time watching the birds come and go. They didn't pay too much attention to the little birds, they probably thought "that's just a snack", but when the doves came they got quite excited, guess they thought it was "dinner time" then. LOL

I picked up some more solar lights for my yard yesterday and plan to put them out later so I can enjoy the nice weather a bit. Otherwise, I'm in the process of washing all the bedding. I would love to hang it outside but with all the birds here I would probably just have to rewash it again!

I hope you all have a beautiful day today!

So I'm not the only one is this boat. I started changing careers almost 7 years ago and I'm still not where I want to be. Lots of bumps along the way. Changing careers was my choice, but I expected it to go much quicker and smoother. So frustrating!!!!!

Are there many Dunkin Donuts even left? I know a few that went under.

Where is Toes? She hasn't posted here lately. Is she on a sabbatical or is she basking in the sun at the beach all day? I hope everything is okay with her.
