Latina, how is your son doing? I sure hope his pain has subsided and he is feeling better than he was!
Thanks for asking Cindy, he says the pain is much more tolerable now & has cut back significantly on his pain meds. Surgery was only a week ago & the therapist says he is handling it better than she has seen any grown man handle it... he insists on healing quick & is getting around on his own, showering without help since 3 days after surgery, insists on getting his own drink from the kitchen & stuff. I do tell him not to push it & chance reinjury.
He was going crazy at home yesterday, not being able to leave the house in a week now, so he called me as i was leaving work & asked if i'd take him to get his last paycheck from Arbys, i offered to just pick it up on my way home & he said "but mom if you take me with you i'll buy you dinner" lol he just wanted out... though it took 10 times longer to go get him, get him in the truck & wait while he crutched his way in there, i did & he said it was worth the 20 minutes it took him just to get one sock on before i got home lol

2 more hours & i'm out of here! My sons therapy appt was cancelled this friday & next due to the therapist not being in for some reaon, so he only goes on Tuesday... shhhh don't tell my boss that, i still plan on dipping out of here at 1pm these 2 wks
It was all of 19ş when i came to work this morning
Who says the weather ever follows the calendar. At least we are getting closer to nice weather. The birds are back and that's a good sign. Now we just need some flowers and leaves on the tree. I did see the grass getting greener in my front yard, which means the joy of mowing. I'm glad my husband does it, because I don't want to.

I would do that, too. Why tell them what they don't need to know?

Every time my husband tries to mow the lawn, someone sees that he's outside so they come over to talk to him and then it doesn't get mowed. Even people driving by think they have to stop in and chat! So last year I bought myself a new riding mower and I do the mowing now. My son and I even built a utility shed to keep the mower in because there isn't room in the garage for anything else...not even a car! LOL
I got this to use for Buddy's bird bath but he prefers to drink and play in his recirculating fountain. This one used to have a pump but the pump gave out and I haven't replaced it yet.
He does seem to like the fairy on this bath tho.. I always say "Do you like the pretty girl?" and he cranes his neck toward her as if to get a better look.
Night, all! Tomorrow is another day..
Nice Budgie Dave, I had one that used to roll pencils off a table and watch them fall to the floor. I trained him to hate my sister and he would chase her out of any room.
As for Robins...Usually by the end of the first week or just beginning the second of March I have a bunch of Robins in our yard. But this year I heard them about that time and then started seeing one here and one there but it wasn't until just recent that we started really getting more in the yard. Seems a little late for the whole bunch to show up. Wonder what that means.
Oh and my robins are always very polite robins lol, no poop on the deck, no flying at the windows...just in the yard/bushes and oh, they say please and thank you too. lol welll....in robin language I'm sure.
Oh sure I'm the only one in Wisconsin that has Robins that act like Nitwits!
I'm pretty sure the one hitting the window see's it's reflection and is trying to chase it away, and yours talk to you, politely you say!
We had the two little Tykes all day today into the evening, ( I know why older folks don't have babies.) Anyway at the end of the day Petunia was bathing them, she blow dried thier hair rubbed lotion on the elbows & knees cleaned out thier little ears, & I had to ask her if she was detailing them for a grandchildrens show I didn't know about! (another not so nice reply, right in my ear, so the boy's didn't hear.) It was a long day, but those tykes make you feel young.
If at first you don't succeed,
destroy all the evidence that you tried.
Morning all. It's Saturday, we have snow on the ground again. How's your morning?
We also woke up to an inch, I thought you folks up there had snow till late April. My son went to Northland College and each time we went there to move him back home; more snow.
Experience is something you don't get until after you need it.

Good morning to everyone!
No snow here either thank goodness! We just had a little rain during the night but the sun is shining now. I have the windows open to let in a little fresh air...I painted the bathroom yesterday and the fumes are a little strong still.
We are going to just "chill" today and go do something for my son's 20th birthday. He will be back at college on his actual birthday next week so we are celebrating it today instead. We may head to Madison or maybe the Dells...it's his choice where he wants to go and what we're going to do.

You have one of those husbands, too? Mine is a talker and he doesn't get much work done on his cars (he likes to fix up cars) and anyone that walks by he has to tell his life story to. Forget about sending him to the store because he runs into so many people and is gone for an hour just to pick up a loaf of bread. I bet everyone in town knows his life story.
Funny thing is when I go to the stores, I don't run into that many people I know. He must have better timing.

I looked outside at midnight and the ground was covered in snow. Didn't expect to see that since today is going to be in the 50s. I woke up and it was gone. So maybe it was a bad dream. Snow on the first day of spring just isn't right. Even mother nature is mean to us.
I had a lovebird once that would fly over to a stranger's shoulder then calmly walk over and give them a vicious bite on the neck. I loved that bird
Buddy is a great parakeet but other than sitting on top of his cage all day with occasional trips to his water or food dish, he's not much for playing. Doesn't seem to understand the concept.
