well we had a beautiful afternoon and evening. had some cocktails on the porch in the sun....went to the island and watched the sun set at Jauna's, a beach bar....then headed west on the newly re-opened beach road to Pensacola Beach. Has dinner at Peg Legs so we are all STUFFED with oysters, scallops, mahi, shrimp, grouper and even more cocktails.....but the ride back on the beach road was like a movie. The surf was rolling in, the full moon was huge and shining over the surf......we stopped and walked and dug our toes in the sand........no pun intended.......a perfect day.
We have all dispersed into our respective "guest rooms", except ME of course, I'm in my own damn room....
I LOVE COMPANY!
I really do. They are in awe at the beauty of the area and I really enjoy watching them enjoy.................
And now I am pissed off at my little dog again....I had my pedicure re-done again today and he just licked it off again......................he's evil, I swear.

I love seafood and I just noticed one of our new restaurants had a sign up for grouper so now I have to go try it out!
I did go to Sirloin Stockade today and had baked salmon and catfish fillets as well as seafood salad.. but nothing beats being in a location where you can get the stuff fresh (and cheaper(er))!

Hey Hawkins! Nothing new or exciting here... I seen your name in chat last night & tried to join you, however the site is still having some loading issues for me & it wouldnt load in FF or IE... hope to chat again soon though
A good thing to do is back those passwords up to disk. You'll thank yourself if you ever need to reformat from a virus.
I've lost everything due to a virus before, i tend to save almost everything to disk, due to that. It was a hard lesson to learn. Passwords i use to write down & keep them filed away in my locked cabinet, however i havent done that since i got the pc i have now (almost 2 yrs ago). saving to disk sounds much easier & like the way to go... thanks for the idea Ken, good looking out
Windy like crazy here!! The drive to work at 4:30am was not easy!! My truck was all over the place, heck even the semi's were all over the road!
It was really windy here last night too, although not so much today.
I have some errands to run in town in a bit and then maybe do some shopping...depends on how cold I am by then! I do need to get some "special" foods for my son who's coming home for spring break on Friday.
I'm so glad that he's not in with the party crowds that go to Mexico or Florida for spring break! He's always been a level headed kid and getting his college degree has been the most important thing to him.

Have a great day all...and stay warm!
Did you make it out in the wind to get those errands done today Cindy?
Is your son in school here in WI or did he move away for school?

Yes, I did make it to the store. I just got back about 20 minutes ago and got everything put away already. I would have been home sooner, but I always seem to run into at least half a dozen people I know so of course I have to stop and chat for a bit. LOL

Yes, he is in his second year at UW-Platteville. He absolutely loves it there. He was always kind of quiet in school but college has brought him out of his shell a lot. He started out as a music major (he even got the top music scholarship last year at the campus) but changed his major to computer technology this year. He didn't know what he would do with the music other than teach, and he didn't really want to do that. He is still doing stuff with his music though. He is going to be the section leader in the marching band next fall and his fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, has a swing band that he plays piano for and a choir that he sings with. He has also accompanied the campus choirs and other students on occasion.
I'm just glad that he is happy doing what he wants and hasn't totally given up his music...especially since he had 11 years of piano lessons. I still don't know how he can do it, but he can name a note just by someone playing or singing it. His piano teachers said he has "perfect pitch". He can also play just about any instrument he picks up. I've only met a couple other people who have that ability and it is just so impressive!
He sure didn't get his talent from me or his dad though. They say music and math go hand in hand and I really believe that. When he was little, he used to memorize everything that had numbers in it and he loved those math work books from the store, so he was doing multiplication before he started kindergarten. I also think piano lessons helped with his concentration which carried over into his school work and helped him to get good grades.
Did I tell you we are really proud of him? "Mom beaming here". LOL

I have never seen anyone with that ability, but have heard of it & i agree, impressive indeed!
You should be proud, sounds like you have a very smart young man... what a great reflection of those who raised him
Yikes, it is windy! Good thing everything is frozen to the ground or it would be in Lake Michigan. Is everyone having the wind storm?
I heard a weird humming noise this morning by the kitchen or coming from outside. I couldn't tell what it was. I told my husband to check the sump pump hose outside to see if it was full of ice and that's what it was. The darn thing wouldn't stop running because no water was getting out.

Did you find any spiders in the cupboard?

You sure have a smart kid. I'm not good with music or math. Then there's my brother who is good with math, but never got into playing music. I struggled with math all through school. Numbers just spin around in my head. I was surprised when I got 99% in my college math class. Thank goodness for calculators.

Hey, all.. I beat myself silly today with all the running around grocery shopping, etc, plus did not sleep well last night so taking the night "off".. was just here checking for maintenance issues. I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully recharged and ready to go.

Thank you. He really is a great kid! His goal from the time he was in 5th grade was to be Valedictorian of his graduating class. He made Salutatorian...his best friend was Valedictorian. She was having trouble with math her senior year and he tutored her and helped her with her homework all the time. He knew if he did that and she got an A, then she would be ahead of him, but he said he didn't mind because they were such good friends and friends help each other when they need it. I thought it was a really selfless thing for him to do!

Blue, we must have been in the same high school math class! LOL When I was a freshman at Lake Geneva High, they put you into classes according to your abilities...so I was in the lowest possible math class they had and honors classes for everything else....go figure! LOL
