Did the weather hold for you, or did you run into more snow? Hope it was all a good day for you.
As for everyone here....
GOOD MORNING!
Reading the weather report and it certainly looks like we are going to get hit with some nasty stuff coming this next week. Not only are we going to get snow off and on the temps are going to go way down so it will be burrrrrr cold outside!
What happened to the global warming stuff? I think we could use some next week.
Seen a bit of snow on the trip home last night. We stopped in Milwaukee to visit with a friend & then again in Waukesha to see another friend & of course did a lil shopping at Johnson Creek outlet & in the end had to run back to Portage before backtracking my butt back home (hence why it ended up an all day event). Otherwise i would have probably beat the weather, it was ok though it wasn't bad for driving.
I know what you mean about this coming week, looks like we are in for a dandy!
Or, I may stick to the original plan: bubblebath, hot dogs, beer and football..........
Stay warm everyone! I have been watching the weather channel, looks ugly!
Sure has been a long winter for ya'll "up der in da nort ya know! You betcha!"
I say bubble bath, hot dogs, beer and football sounds like much more fun lol I encourage you to opt for that to be the days plan
Has been a long winter & we have not even begun to see the half of it, according to the weather peoples
Happy birthday, Kelly. Even though this probably isn't the BEST birthday you've ever had--hope you find something cheerful in today.
At least the sun is shining. Although that means it will be cold without any clouds for blankets...I'll still take the sunshine.
Today I am getting the laundry done. Since the holidays, all I've done is the "emergency" loads; it's long past time to get those piles taken care of! And that is the only useful thing I plan to do today.
We had a coach in our studio Friday and Saturday, so LONG days with lessons, staff training, and of course, feeding and entertaining our guest. Whew!
Thanks everyone.....all my friends here at the Bubbler. My sister has already been here with a bday cake from her and my kids. Plus a brand new puzzle! I like puzzles. My godson/nephew..........Cade, who is in first grade got me a really cute card and signed it all himself. On the front of the envelope it said "To Ant Kelly". How cute is that?

Ant Kelly... too cute... I hope the rest of your day is a good one
For those who were interested in the Hot Seat i have posted the threads... let's see how well this goes over & hopefully get to know each other better...
pk, glad you were able to contact her. You didn't say why she's gone so I wont meddle.
What counts is she's ok. It's also cool to see people from The Bubbler looking after members here, that's something you see in small towns.
Ditto. Saw Carol posting, too ~ great to see!

Once we do, the member profile section is where I'd like to see improvement.
Besides that, getting the basic video tutorials up and available will be a big help to anyone who avails themselves.

Does ads rotate and come up randomly? If so, what about ads that are older that people did not take off, do they show up too at times? Or can someone come on and place an ad and not show up as 'active'? Does 'active' only work if they come on to the forum?
Just wondering how that works.
OK, gotta run and get ready to take my daughter to Chinese class today and it looks nasty out again.
If you're talking about classifieds, the newest several show on the home page. Saw Carol posted today so maybe she did her ads before saying 'hi' in the forums. Hope that helps.

Hope you're feeling a ton better soon, Carol!
You're ears must have been ringing a LOT ~ we're all missing you and your posts.
So - big work day Friday and Saturday. Landed a new job yesterday, hoping for another tomorrow. Great stuff.
Have a few hours of goof off time today, so here I am.
Bah, thought I'd lay down for a few minutes and slept longer than I wanted! I got most of what I needed to do done around the apartment.. more to do tomorrow.
Been catching up on movies and book tv in the background. Great old stuff from Turner Classic Movies, Reelz and Sundance. All while I catch up on email. Saving Harold & Maude just to enjoy.
I don't think I've ever seen an entire episode of "24".. my brother loves it. Looks like a show I'd be interested in but distracting at the moment.
My neighbor's brought over a mystery meat sandwich to thank me for bringing stuff over to them in the past. They brought over some sort of steak yesterday too.
I didn't want to hurt their feelings so accepted it but just couldn't eat it. I've seen how they keep their house, if you get my drift.
I always add sugar to mine and prefer it mild.. my mom made chili that was out of this world.
We used to run the food concession at our flea market and one guy would come in and literally buy the entire pot of her chili whenever he'd come in.
I know chili can be a "touchy" subject for some, like BBQ or beer.
If I happen to buy canned chili, I always add maple syrup to mine. If I'm eating chili out, I love Wendy's (go figure) and usually dunk my burger or fries in it.
Just finished posting some ads as theBubblerAdNet, most books dealing with abused dogs or cats.
Watched 2 hours of "24" as I worked, omly to find there's more tomorrow night! It's a two night premier!

What's mystery meat? i dont know that i'd eat something called that regardless who makes it lol
Several yrs back a lady i worked with said she loved to bake & since she lived alone she would always bake pies & what not for my kids... She had the most disgusting nails, filthy long nails & i didn't have the heart to tell her no, so i'd take the pies & throw them away. Finally i simply told her that it was too much sweets for what i allow my kids, so she stopped doing it so much. I felt bad tossing them but ick.
Mystery meat is any unidentified substance that appears meat-like but is unidentifiable, short of performing a DNA analysis.
Actually, it "looked" like cube steak but when I asked her what it was, she "didn't know" so that was enough for me. One end of it looked dried out as if it were leftovers to begin with and it was tough enough when I checked it casually with the old "thumb on the edge of the plate" trick that I threw it out after she left.
Tonight "looked" like a hamburger but smelled gamey so again, no thanks. I'll eat venison but it has to have sauce or gravy or something on it.
I'm going to have to tell them not to bring anything over.

Oh my.. they really don't know what animal the mystery meat was from... that's downright gross IMO no way would i eat something like that... can't say i blame you.
I make a good mild/moderate chili I'm told. The only problem, I love Chili but Chili doesn't love me. Upsets my stomach. So I have been Chili free for years until recently when I discovered I like to eat Hormel Chili with NO beans. I can now enjoy Chili again.

As far as Wendy's Chili Dave, I'll pick it up for here from time to time too. Everyone likes the Chili there. I have tried a bite or two and it does taste good.

Just tell her you are on a special diet and please don't tempt you with anything that you should not eat. IF they ask what kind of diet you are on, just say you can't eat anything that you have not prepared yourself. lol That should make them think a bit. lol

Now THAT is something I have never ever heard of before!
Sugar? Maple Syrup?
ha ha ha!
Yep, chili does fall into that "touchy" catagory along with BBQ! Down here....cornbread would fall into the catagory as well. (I make mine the yankee way-yellow corn meal, down south it's white corn)
I fall into the spicy chili catagory.......I roast my chiles (a variety of hot and sweet) in the oven under the broiler until blackened, I use fresh coarse ground and chopped meats, lots of garlic and onion.
Very thick and spicy hot. I DO add beans though. (bad girl!) I like pintos added to mine.
My Mom used to make hers mild, no beans, thin and it had MACARONI in it! OMG! Yucko.
"Why won't you eat my chili?" umm......."EEEEEEEW!"
Don't they call that "Cincinnati Chili"?
Down here in the South, Pork BBQ rules, either Memphis Style (sweet/tangy thick sauce) and, if you can find it (my fav), Carolina Style (with a tangy/vinegar thin sauce) Shredded pork of course. The last time I went to WI., a friend said to come over for dinner, they were "having BBQ". Cool, ok! They had a pot full of GROUND BEEF that looked like it had bbq SAUCE added to it. What I would call Sloppy Joe.
Hmmm.....
I LOVE my BBQ with a big dollop of cole slaw slapped on top! Now that's another conflict right there! I make creamy cole slaw, down here you see more "vinegar" slaw. Oh yeah.....then there's potato salad to argue over too!! ha ha ha........
Anyway.....good morning everyone! Ya'll can laugh at me the next entire WEEK, the weatherman says that EVERY day this week, the lows temps are going to be in the 20's and 30's, and the highs only in the 50's!!!! That's unspeakable!!!!
I am sitting here on my porch with my space heater blowing on my arms and face and the rest of me is tucked under an electric blanket.....have to have my sunrise view and fresh air no matter how cold it is!
Believe it or not, I used to WINTER CAMP IN WISCONSIN when I lived there! Cross country skiied to my campsite and everything! Hard to believe now. Did that in Door County ever year. My how people change.........
Aren't you supposed to be getting down to below zero all week? That's not fun.
Oh yeah.....dave..........beer: I prefer Yuengling. When I go up north, I love the bars up there that have all those WI microbrews on draft!!! I prefer Lagers over Ales, and an occasional dark and malty brew. Served in a pint with a nice thick foamy head!

Hormel Chili with NO beans is pretty much the only chili i like for chili dogs, however i make a good chili & it's usually very hot (spicy) kids love it hot hot. I've gone milder for others & the kids complain it's not spicy enough.
