Well we have a new shovel, over 200 pounds of salt to start the season, and we already put salt on the driveway. Filled the van's tank up with gas and bought new gloves. Now all i have to do is find some boots from last year and I feel I am almost ready for a little snow. Just hope that is all we get. We really don't want 10 inches.
Great idea about the windshield wiper solution. I am forever using mine, especially when the roads gets slossy and every one is always throwing stuff up on your windows.
I guess the anti-freeze is also a good thing to remember to check to.
I still love it The soft fall of the snowflakes or the cool blizzard I can't get enough of
I lived down south, so sticky hot weather, your in a air conditioned place and you open the outside door and get blasted with heat and instant sweat, not to mention open a car door you have to back away to let the heat out lol.
I'm happy in Wisconsin I love blizzards and thunderstorms, bring it on, lol
Hey Blue, I take it you don't have a 4x4, also have you ever lived down south? I've done both, snow is not problem. Go down south during the summer and you'll zoom right back to Wisconsin
The only good thing about winter is there are no bugs outside.
Winter is a good time to build up some fat, kick back and relax. It seems like my "creative juices" flow more easily in the winter months. I try to catch up on my reading, and do some writing. I have plenty of blog work to do. I get out there almost every day for at least five miles on a hike. City (small town) hikes.
I like the sand on the sidewalks. Salt is fine if the temperature is high enough. I think it has to be 26 or 28 before salt can do it's magic. Sand lends to traction, such that if applied to an icy patch on a sidewalk, the pedestrian is less apt to slip slide and fall. Some will bounce, others will crack under the stress.
I guess I can lend some moral support to those of you that have to move snow out of your way. I thank you in advance for keeping the pedestrian safe. I really don't let winter get to me. In a few more months spring will be upon us, and we will all get to swat mosquitoes.

Also a snow blower works wonders.
I'm happy in Wisconsin
No, I don't own a 4x4. Right now I can't afford anything but the car I currently have owned for the last 9 years. No, I never lived anywhere except Wis. And yes I own a snow blower, but it doesn't mean I want to go out in the cold and use it.
I live about 40 min. away from Pewaukee and had to spend many night driving to and from school in some crappy weather. It wasn't fun driving where I couldn't even see the road or the snow would be flying horizontally towards the windshield. It wasn't fun trying to keep all the splatter from everyone else's car's off my windshield. It's not fun to run across a parking lot from a class carrying all kinds of stuff and freezing my butt off and having shoes full of snow. All the jobs where I live are all out of town, which means I have to drive in some real crap. It doesn't matter what you drive when someone slams into you. You have to always worry about that.
Both me and my husband hate winter and the bitter cold. I could deal with winter if it wasn't so long and so cold and I didn't have to drive in it. I get cold really easy. I hate having to walk in the slop, hate having a dirty car, hate just about everything you can think of about winter.
Once I took an online survey about finding my ideal place to live. None of the locations picked for me were from a really cold state and none were from the midwest. That just shows you how much I hate being cold.

No matter what anyone says they aren't going to convince me that winter is awesome.
I also like to go out on weekends to do stuff, which usually means going out of town to do it. I don't like having my plans ruined by snow.
