Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
Food Price Inflation Changes How We Shop
Steadily rising food costs aren't just causing grocery shoppers to do a double-take at the checkout line -- they're also changing the very ways we feed our families.

Re: Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
Yes Amber, it's really showing up when you get to the check out how prices seem to be going up and up.
Eggs are really high. I am amazed how much they want for eggs. Milk is always on a steady rise and now I heard Wheat bread is going to go to the sky.
Most places I shopped at before Easter wanted twice the price for a good ham as just last year. I was so glad that I finally came across Pick n Save where they had a good price on a great ham. But then I went over to get eggs there and they were the highest I ever saw eggs!
It gets that the only way to shop now is the hit the sales only at each store..but then, where's the savings when it cost so much for gas to get to each one!

Re: Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
I went grocery shopping over the weekend... Ouch!
Having been a single mom the past 20 yrs i am feeling the effects of not only gas, but at the grocery store. My daughter moved out almost a year ago & the grocery bill went down just a bit at first. NOW it's surpassed where it was when i had 2 teens at home & it's just my son & I.

Yeah... I think we would all be rich if we could just stop driving our cars and not have to eat anymore.
The cost of these habits we seem to have is getting way to much!

Re: Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
lol I wish I knew of a way.
I think I could almost live without driving...well at least cut down if I had to.
But eating??
No steak?
No PIZZA??
Well, I guess being broke isn't all that bad. Cause I can't give up eating.

Re: Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
Some 9 am show I had on this morning was talking about the "Every Other Day Diet" and had this lady on there who lost 45# in 6 months by this Every other day diet. She'd starve one day and eat the next.....
The money she saved she was able to purchase gasoline! LOL
(ok I added that myself)

If you're hoping to lose weight, remember that there's no replacement for a healthy lifestyle. The foundation of every successful weight-loss program is a healthy diet and regular physical activity. To lose weight and keep it off permanently, enjoy a variety of healthier foods and include physical activity in your daily routine.

I seen a commercial about that show yesterday...
I personally started hitting the gym 3-5 days a week & started low carb 3 months ago & have lost 55 pounds in 3 months. it's just low carb, no starving for me, i likes my food way too much lol
BUT its the gym & i bought an exercise bike & treadmil for at home as well for the occassional burst of energy in the middle of the night or when i just dont want to spend time or gas going to the gym.
My grocery bill has not changed at all with low carb, it's actually cheaper because i have a list & stick to it, rather than the normal throwing extras in the cart, but i'm feeding a 17 yr old young man & that is what kicks my ass... I hope a new president in office will make the difference we all so desperately need!

That doesn't sound very healthy to me. You need to eat everyday. The best way is to eat smaller portions, but eat about 5-6 meals/snacks a day.

snacks???? that must be what im doing wrong!!
I thought it was 5-6 /meals a day.
Thats great news, now i don't need to refinance my house for the fifth time.
for a while there i was thinking about an indentured servant plan with piggly wiggly just so i was sure to get the next meal and save on gas at the same time.

Re: Food Prices “Just How High Are We Going?”
Not only are prices high, but as a single person living alone, I find I often am forced to waste food because most portions are too large to eat in a single sitting. Granted I'm a big eater but I can't eat a pack of 8 hot dogs all at once and don't care to eat them all week either. Somethings aren't good re-frozen so it's into the trash bin!
