Wisconsin Assembly Votes to Make English the Official Language

"while Wisconsin should never be an ‘English-only’ state, it must never become an ‘English-optional’ state.”

The Wisconsin Assembly voted 57-40 early this morning to make English the official language of the state and require accountability for the printing of documents in other languages. This marks the first time that a bill to make English the official language has passed in a chamber of the Wisconsin legislature.

I wonder if "ya hey der" is considered English?

And what about towns like Milwaukee, La Crosse, Prairie du Sac, Mannitowoc, etc that have French or Indian names? Will they have to change to conform to English?

LOL. I like the new names for easier spelling but the whole issue in itself I am glad to see some progress.
