New car device to help with winter driving.

I just read an article that discussed a new device on cars that sounds like it will help with winter driving. You may want to consider looking into this when purchasing a new car next time. (this was reported to be new for 2008 cars).

It is a new technology that several manufacturers have now that is known as: stability enhancement systems.

Apparently if you start spinning out this system will apply the brake to the individual tire depending on which way you are spinning and help control and correct the wheel. It is suppose to help with dangerous situations that most likely will end up in a roll over etc. This will help avoid this and keep better control over the spin.

Just wondering, is this an improvement of the anti lock breaking system that cars have on now? Does this replace the anti lock system, or is both systems on the car?

All I know is anything that helps with driving in winter conditions sounds good to me.
