No, it's mostly us locals and Wisconsinites living within an hour of Maier Festival Park. Of the 373 adults ticketed this summer, 60 were from Illinois and 20 were from other states.
We went to the festival this year and I was not impressed. It seemed as if it was one giant beer fest instead of a music fest. We did not stay long since the crowd seemed to be getting rowdier as the evening wore on.
I certainly wasn't surprised to read the arrests. Just would like to see how many DUI'S in the city around the area also during the festival. I'm sure the number went up as well.

It's been about 30 years since I was there last and you are right it was pretty much the same back then as it was this time, now that I think about it.
We really did not care much for the festival and I doubt that we will ever go back.
