NEWS: Delavan shootout leaves 6 dead, 1 child injured...

DELAVAN, Wis. —

Police responding to a report of gunshots on Saturday found six people shot dead in a resort community near the Illinois-Wisconsin border, officials said.

Officers also found a 2-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the chest in a car outside the house near Lake Geneva. The child was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital and was reported to be in critical condition.

The last I heard, the father of the kids was the shooter; the children's mother, the twins, the female visitor, and the other female resident are among the dead. After the other shootings, the gunman took his own life. The husband of the female resident survived by escaping out a second story window. I haven't heard a report on the 2 year old lately.

For anyone that hasn't heard, the 2 year old was upgraded to good condition and should be released from the hospital soon.
