Where to find investors.
I just had a bomb shell drop in my lap and am confused on what to do.
I am about to launch services of wireless internet and phone service, and the investor friend of mine, her husband got into an accident and is hurt bad. Now they are not able to send the funds and know I find I have to hurry to find an investor. The questions is what do I do. I have looked at some sites that seem to be to join the investor and the entrepreneur but has some costs. I don't know if they are real of just going to take my money. Does anyone have any ideas.

Have you ever heard of Clark Howard? He does a sydicated radio show about consumer issues. I remember hearing a similar question months ago, but I couldn't find anything out. Youi may want to try posting your question on his website http://www.clarkhoward.com.
Sorry I can't help more.

Thanks for that info. It seems so strange to have this be an issue at all. The risk is so low and profits high and I really thought it should be easy to find a investment club or angel investor somewhere in Wisconsin. This is going to help the state so much and do NOT understand why anyone would invest in stocks, bonds, CD's, ETC.

I think it's probably still fallout from the internet bubble bursting several years ago. Any time someone hears "business" and "internet" together, they get a little gun shy. Besides, the failure rate on a new business is high to begin with, people just don't want to take the risk. You may lose some money with stocks and bonds, but rarely all of it.

good question...
Finding an investor can be a full-time-plus job by itself.
If the risk is that low and the reward that high...well, people just assume that if that were the case, everyone would be doing it.
Internet businesses are attracting $ the way they did pre-bubble; from investors, not bankers. I do agree that banks don't necessarily understand web businesses.
Good luck.
Regards,
Keith
