Remember when we thought that was expensive? I know that's what they had in mind all along. Make it really expensive, then lower the price to make us think we are getting a bargain.

I good friend of mine (webmaster of http://goflo.com/) and I was discussing that very thing today. He said he will not be excited until the gas prices comes down to .99 cents again. I said I think I will be over joyed at 2.00. I think I have a lot larger chance to see 2.00 before we will ever see it go back down to .99 a gallon.

But until then I like 2.65 and I will like 2.64 and 2.63 and so on and so on as long as it keeps going down and not back up again!

I heard that this is just to make us feel happy until our heat bills come out. That is suppose to skyrocket this winter. We just can't win.

a simple question about gas prices.
This summer gas was up to over $4.00/gallon and the price of oil was over $140.00/barrel.
Now oil prices are about $60.00/barrel but gas is $2.58, this does not compute!!

60/140=.42 if we use this formul, gas was $4.29 and now it should be $1.83!!!
Why is it so easy to increase the price but not to decrease?

That's the lowest we've seen reported in this thread in Wisconsin!

LP folks came and filled my tank on Friday. I'm locked in right now at $2.45 gal .... I need the LP for heat and hot water.

Came to $438.55. Anyone who didn't lock in last year is paying much higher then I am. However if it drops lower, I'm still at $2.45 gal...gamble I had to take.

Here's how good the gas marketing is...

We've all been reporting prices for a long time, and we all drop that extra 9/10ths of a cent off of the prices!

I'd like to have that 9/10 for all the gas pumped around the nation, or even around Wisconsin, for a day or week or month...millions of gallons.

One million pennies = $10,000,

.9 cents x 1 million = $9,000

If that were the choice, I think I'd prefer the former. Not that I like high gas prices ~ I just like the idea of a healthy economy more than cheaper gas. In a healthy economy we can better afford to develop alternatives, and with higher gas prices we have the incentive. I saw lines at gas stations in the early 80s - and we've made little progress since then.
