What really bothers me is the fact that the government has us so well trained now that we all think that 2.83 is a good price! We actually have looked forward to and rejoiced that the gas dropped to this amount.
What is next? It will skyrocket to 4.00 so we will think that 3.49 is great??
This is crazy. Give me the days when we could drop a 5.00 bill in the tank and take off with plenty of gas for the day!

GAS TIP FOR THE DAY:
A car uses 1.6 ounces of gas idling for one minute.
Half an ounce is used to start the average automobile!

Well I took a peek today at the gas prices out there and sure enough...yesterday, 2.83. Today: 2.85. Doesn't look like much but any climb up can be the begin of the rise. yikes!

I got gas yesterday (8-21-07) for $2.85 in Jefferson
Just down the road about 13 miles in Sullivan it was at $3.05 and had been like that for days.
$2.85 felt like a bargain!

Yes, the gas is starting to creep up here again. Just under 3.00.
I just read again that we are going to be paying closer to 4.00 this winter to make up for the cheaper prices this summer! CHEAPER PRICES???

yea...isn't it funny how they always seem to have a 'need' to raise the price of gas...just when everyone is planning on using it. Go figure.

CHEAPER PRICES??????
Something is up because my monthly budget for LP heating gas has gone from $102.00 a month up to $275.00 a month!!
That's just nuts....and if I dont pay it monthly, I don't receive my "discount" for when I do have to fill the tank.

Time to move all of Wisconsin into Georgia, a state whose gas price a HUGE $2.36. One which doesn't tax its citizens either.
http://www.gasbuddy.com/gb_gastemperaturemap.aspx
MUST CHECK THIS MAP OUT. WISCONSIN IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST

Saw a great greeting card at Target last night. I was looking for one for my sister and couldn't help see a "Now That's Funny Card" with George Bush "Taking stock of the situation"... opening the card he was ordering stocks of "Exxon, etc."
I laughed..

re: Wisconsin Gas Prices
This certainly has been a strange week for gas prices in our city. I've been watching it all over the city go up and down.
The other day on my errands I started out by my house. The price of gas was 2.65. Further down the road it was 2.69. OK, a difference but not much.
A short time later I was on the on the west side and saw it was 2.77. Then on the South side it was a whopping 2.99!
Later in the day the price of the 2.65 went to 2.69. The first 2.69 station went to 2.67. All in one day. lol
Next day everything was all different again with a few cents higher and now I just saw it is back to 2.67 at one and 2.64 at another!
Wow, can't they all just set one price and leave it at that! One could run out of gas just trying to decide where to go. lol

re: Wisconsin Gas Prices
I"ve been running to Genesee Depot the past 2 weeks for pet care. I was tickled to find gas there for only $2.77.....as the week went on it dropped to $2.74
Sullivan the gas has not come down below $2.84
I feel like I'm getting a huge deal at $2.74 right now!! I'm sure something will happen to burst that happy little bubble I live in though.....gas will go to $5.00 gal so I view $3.00 as a deal.....sigh.....

It's really sad how our minds have been played with over the gas prices....and we have been conditioned to thinking anything under 2.85 is reasonable now.

Gas Price Pinch Reaches the Supermarket
WBAY
It's not a record yet, but motorists are raising eyebrows at rising gas prices -- up 20 cents in the past week to $3.29.9 a gallon at many pumps.
As gas prices go up, so do food prices. Now consumers are pinching pennies even more.

re: Wisconsin Gas Prices
I didn't need much gas this morning when going past the gas station but a feeling I had to fill up made me go in. I was glad I did. It was still at $3.19. When I drove by a short time later it had jumped up to $3.25.
Heard it will soar to $4.00 a gallon for most the summer if not more. Just in time for everyone to go on vacation.
I so want to just jump in the van with my kids this summer and do a road trip for awhile but with these prices all we will be able to do is drive down the road and come back.

re: Wisconsin Gas Prices
The sad thing is, Americans will continue to suck on the teet of the oil companies regardless of how high gas prices go.
Why are other countries so far ahead of us in alternative fuel technologies?
Norway has a 'hydorgen highway' with H fuel stations that produce hydrogen right on the spot.
France has a car that runs on compressed air combined with gasoline. It takes an hour to fill the compressor, then can go 90mph and gets about 100 mpg with an 800 mile range per tank.
Brazil long ago switched to bio-fuels, using sugar as their main ingredient.
Why are the US automakers so far behind these other countries? Are we so image conscious that we need to prove our 'manliness' by driving SUVs?
The same thing happened in the 70s when Detroit continued producing LTDs, Impalas, etc while Japan was producing fuel efficient compact cars. You think we would have learned our lesson.
