I took a guess at the dates I said and I'm off. I just seen a post I made around 5-2-09 and I said prices were $2.09. It's now 5-15-09, only 13 days and the price went up .30˘ What's going on?
We need to get off oil! Car manufacturers, are you listening? Maybe big oil is plugging up your ears.. or your bank accounts are expanding and you don't care!
Read an article that was saying we will not see the prices we did last summer. It should not go up over 3.49 at the very most this summer.
3.49 is suppose to makes us feel good? That is still way to high!
The article went on about the recession and we can't afford to pay anything more this summer since the tourist season will be hurting enough with everyone being with less travel money.

With Memorial Day weekend coming up, here's some good news:
HOUSTON — As tens of millions tank up and hit the road for Memorial Day weekend, gas prices are rising fast enough to revive painful memories of the $4-a-gallon summer of 2008.
Rest easy: The economic slack created by the recession all but guarantees prices won't spike the way they did last year, analysts say.
On Thursday, a gallon of unleaded averaged $2.36. That's much cheaper than the $3.80 it cost this time last year, but prices are still up about 30 cents a gallon this month, enough to make drivers flinch.
Yes, I read in many places they claim the prices won't reach the highs of last summer..but the way they have been not creeping up, but racing up lately it's enough to really make one worry.

We went up to $2.75 here a few days ago... So much for not seeing those high prices again this summer!
I'd love for someone to explain to me WHY the price hike now that barrel prices are at $69, which isn't much more than a few months ago when we paid much less at the pump??? Other than it's the government screwing us, which is the obvious, but how do they even justify this price?? Or don't they
$2.69 today. Didn't the government say they were going to do an investigation last year on why the gas prices kept going up and up. Whatever happened with that?
As I was gassing up I wondered if we could graph the activity on this thread against the price of gas...watching the activity go up with prices no doubt!
We were @ 2.79 when I left home yesterday & in Monroe WI it was 2.75, just 6 miles down the road you cross the state line into IL & their prices ranged from 2.99 to 3.09 for reg. unld.
I waited until I was back in WI to get gas, driving damn near on fumes, but 25˘ per gallon is quite the difference!
Getting back to Madison today I see we are at $2.85 now :|
Maybe it wont' go that high for while, but it's the attitude that's becoming pervasive with alot of policy makers. If someone's talking about it now, it'll be talked about more and more as time goes on.
Better enjoy the "cheap" gas we have now.
