How much snow are we going to get? - Page 6

Now I realize not everyone likes snow, I dislike ther timing of most snowfalls but then what can you do.
It always snow the night you must put out the garbage and recyclables!
It always snowwws right after you clean your driveway.
and the snowplow always clears the road 1 minute before you need to leave for work.

But think of what all this snow actually does.
It helps people stay employed at time when they could be unemployed.
It helps to fill our lakes and if you looked at many Wisconsin lakes in recent years you know they are very LOW.
Snow also helps to sell snowblowers and think of all the people who make and sell snowblowers.
It also helps to sell
snowmobiles
skis
outdoor clothing
Think of all those resort owners who need snow for snowmobilers and all the resturants and bars that want those snowmobilers.
This list could go on and on.
All I can say is
LET IT SNOW
LET IT SNOW
LET IT SNOW
our economy will grow

Think of all of those that could not make it to work because they were snowed in...or worse yet the ones that work 20 miles or more away and have to risk their lives to get home again because of this nasty storm we are having.

Winter clothes?? LOL My daughter would love to find some winter boots for her son. He was in need of some new ones and she has been looking for weeks for some normal priced snow boots but all the stores have swim suits out now.

Maybe this is good for the economy in upper Wisconsin for snowmobles and resorts but in the south end of Wisconsin where we aren't in need of as much snow this can cripple our economy rather than help us.

So in all fairness it's not that we hate snow...but I do believe doing things in MODERATION! lol lol And this has been a very intense week and today getting hit with up to 20 inches and they are calling for 4-6 foot drifts with 40 mph winds...well that is not moderation to me..

I am tired! lol I love snow when it comes down pretty and they plow the streets quickly and all the snow is in the fields where it belongs to look at and not have to drive through! lol

Oh well..that's the beauty of living in Wisconsin. You never know what the weather is going to be like.

It's snowing so much here today that the postal workers are returning back to the post office and not bringing mail out. It's to unsafe.

Oh yeah...did I mention that our school's superintendent dropped the ball today and our schools stayed open all day?? Unreal.

The latest storm dumped 16.8" of snow in my area.

I never got plowed out that day/night and had to call the guy who plows the following day to see if he was coming or not. He was very behind schedule, and I was stuck in my driveway.

Now I see flurries coming down

For those that live in the South/East area (like I do)

it looks as if we need to brace ourselves for yet another possible storm coming.

I just read this from the natlional weather service alert...

I don't know about others...but I am just so tired of this snow. I have put down over 500 pounds of salt in our driveway this winter. (we have a slight incline that ice loves to stick to).

Milwaukee's winter now 4th snowiest ever

Well it seems that Milwaukee's winter is now recorded as the 4th snowiest ever. Milwaukee has a recorded snowfall season of 84.5 inches this year which makes it on the list of Milwaukee's winters.

In 3rd place the winter back in 1959-1960 shows up a mere 9 inches above this year.

Of course there is always the chance we could still top the record and move into and even past 3rd place. When looking back on the records in March/April it's listed that 18 inches of snow fell back in 1885-86.

Anyone wishing for more snow so this winter can move up on the list?
lol...I'm not cheering it on! lol

I don't mind the snow as long as it stays off the driveway and the roads! lol

I look forward to the Spring and all the flowers and birds but I'm not one for the hot summer days. When the heat turns up, I start longing for the cool days of Fall again. lol

And the grass! Keep it off the grass too.... Then I dont mind the snow either....LOL

Give me 80 or higher and I"m a happy camper. I have been waiting too long for some good hot days in the 90's!!

Oh yuck! I totally want to curl up and die in front of an air conditioner when it hits the 90's. I have always been like that. Even as a kid I disliked the heat. But back then we only had a big metal blade fan in the window that kept us cool. No air conditioners back then!

LOL...I can still hear my mom telling us kids to 'Watch out for that fan...it can cut your fingers off".. lol..never knew for sure if it could do that or not but none of us wanted to find out! lol

I dont think I'd want to find out if that statement was true or not either. I prefer to keep all my fingers.

No A/C here. I'm in a big old farm house that does good at keeping cool in the summer. I"ll run a few fans for the dogs if need be.

But you can always find me outside enjoying the heat and humidity!
