Fall is the most beautiful time of the year and we are so lucky to live in the most beautiful state during this time.

I think it would be fun if everyone would post the best tree and location, or the most beautiful rustic road, or maybe even share a few pictures of the autumn colors. By doing this will help everyone to see the beauty all around the state that we may otherwise miss out on.

I took this photo last fall while camping in Astico County Park, Dodge County WI.
It was a very nice weekend with cool nights. Our campsite was right on the shoreline of the Crawfish river.
I took this shot thinking this Picnic table was looking forward to long Winter’ rest after an active summer. In my mind I could hear the children at play, the smell of Hamburgers and Brat cooking and the chatter of the people as they relaxed and prepared their meal. If were not for such poor shower facilities we would be back there again this fall.

Even though the Fall wins 'hands down' as being beautiful in Wisconsin I do believe that Spring offers a great deal of beauty in Wisconsin also! All you have to do is look around at all the fresh new growth on the trees, and the beautiful Spring Flowers blooming, and the pretty birds all around to know that Spring can also show off Wisconsin beauty too.

Eagle Watching: While many animals take a long winter rest, bald eagles take to the skies. Wildlife watchers flock to Wisconsin to spy North America’s largest population of wintering eagles. The greatest concentration of the majestic birds is found at locks, dams and power plants along the Mississippi and Wisconsin rivers. Top watching spots are Sauk City and Prairie du Sac, where the waters of the Wisconsin River flowing below the Prairie du Sac dam seldom freeze, making fish available as food for the birds. Head to Cassville and the Mississippi River for Bald Eagle Days. Visitors can enjoy guided bus tours to prime sighting locations and other programs and exhibits devoted to the birds.

American Legion-Northern Highlands State Forest (Spring)
Each year 500,000 visitors flock to Wisconsin hoping to spy bald eagles, whooping cranes and ospreys. The American Legion/Northern Highlands State Forest offers visitors the chance to spot more than 50 mammal species, nearly 250 bird species and over 25 reptile and amphibian species. Avid bird watchers have documented more than 300 songbird species at Governor Knowles State Forest. One of the best ways to observe nature at work is from a canoe or kayak. Paddlers look forward to spring in Wisconsin because water levels are high, wildflowers are blooming and migratory birds are returning from their winter getaways.
