Master Gardeners - UW Extention Office

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who aid University of Wisconsin Extension staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture and their environment. This site can help you learn about becoming a Master Gardener in Wisconsin, find information about horticultural topics, and connect to the statewide network of Master Gardener associations.

The mission of the Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association (WIMGA) is to support and provide leadership to individuals and local organizations in their mission to assist University of Wisconsin Extension (UWEX) in community horticultural programs through volunteerism, education, and environmental stewardship.

I want to do this!

Thanks for the info, RedRaven! I want to do this! Got this from the link you gave:

What do I have to do to become a Certified Master Gardener?

To become certified, you must complete the minimum 36 hours of training, achieve a 70% or better score on the final exam [note: this is an open book exam], and complete at least 24 hours of volunteer service within one year of training (higher requirements may be imposed locally). At the completion of all the requirements, you may receive an official Master Gardener certificate and are eligible to order a name badge. Contact your local training facilitator for specific details in your county.

Really cool ~ hope this will help me get through next Winter.

Regards,
Keith

Good luck Keith!!
Let me know if you become a "Certified Master Gardener"
Also I see youll have the benefit to "Establish drop off sites for produce as part of a Plant-a Row-for-the-Hungry project and bring your extra zucchini. "
