Re: Garden Seed Trade....

I use to know of a place that you could go and trade plants. I think it was in Zion, Illinois (not far from us). Maybe a local college that has a plant section may do this. I am thinking there is something like that at our Gateway College maybe??

If not, a local 4-H group may do something?

If you find out something let us know.

Re: Garden Seed Trade....

Not sure where you are located but I did find an interesting forum where some are talking about having a plant swap soon. The rest of the forum has some interesting reading also.

I would like to trade garden seeds. I'm just learning how to save my own seed and I did a little bit of saving in 2007. I wouldn't have a whole heck of alot to trade this year, but maybe some. What kind of seeds were you looking for? What kind do you have?

Re: Garden Seed Trade....

I see you live in Marathon county as I am in Lincoln County. My WHOLE front yard is perennials. And lots of weeds last summer. I was having such a hard time with my back it was so hard to keep up. But I get seedlings every year that I thin out. So it wouldn't be just seeds but the whole plant. I did have a guy up the road that I got a bunch of double poppy seeds from one year...and they grew like wild flower and spread if you don't cut them before the seeds drop. I may be able to get some of those as he likes to share too. Let me know if you are looking for anything in particular. I have pictures of my flower beds DID look like when it was all weeded looking great. I love to share what I have if I have extra.

Kelly

Looking on Google for Wisconsin Seed Exchange shows the #1 result leads right back here to a link in theBubbler directory:

Wisconsin Seed Exchange - Wisconsin Directory

Here's the direct link to the Wisconsin Seed Exchange group on Yahoo (still active with 17 members):

Re: Garden Seed Trade....

I have Amaranth elephant head seeds. I collect way more seeds than I need. They actually self sow, but just in case I collect seeds. Fun flower that is quite a conversational piece.

Can you see the elephant?
