MENASHA — Donna VanBuecken was disappointed more people didn't turn out Saturday to salvage threatened prairie plants at a construction site.
But there was still hope.
"I did have some people call me and inquire about digging next week," said VanBuecken, dig coordinator for the Fox Valley Area chapter of Wild Ones. "We've had two or three families every dig."
Wild Ones is a national nonprofit organization promoting environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity by preserving, restoring or establishing native plant communities.
