Spring fever

I know I have spring fever when I look forward to cleaning the garden and flower beds. Crappy job, but makes a big difference in the yard when it's done.

Usually by the forth beer I realize that my work pace is steadily slowing and that I can finish tomorrow.

It is cold today...definitely winter...the time of year when I look forward to anything growing next spring. I planted 400 spring flowering bulbs this fall in anticipation of next spring. Today, I am surfing the gardening section on the Bubbler and enjoying the anticipation of using new ideas and techniques. Thank you all for posting your ideas.

I got an early start to cleaning my garden beds for 2008 by doing it this fall. In the past, I always waiting until spring to remove the debris but this past winter we had a vole infestation that destroyed several bushes and small trees. I decided I'd risk losing some perennials rather than provide shelter for the voles.
