Hi J10asen,
No, the glass design I do by hand the old fashioned way (paper and pencil). I'm not speedy enough using the computer. And then I have the problem of having to print it out. It's really just more economical for me to do it by hand. I save all of my graphic abilities for web design.
The GIMP has a great image map feature that I LOVE. No way do I have the patience for plotting coordinates, so the GIMP does it for you. I also like to play around with animating stuff. Here are some of the graphics I made using it -
www.onlineglass.net - I made the top logo, the side buttons, and the bottom navigation bar. I also edited all of the glass images using it as well. Even my background is a tiled GIMP image.
www.allaboutyourbiz.com - Various parts of this site were manipulated using the GIMP. Some were done w/ Photoshop by my sister-in-law.
www.buywithbella.com - I made the animated sign on the index page. Actually, I found a blank sign online and tore it apart and re-built it using her logo.
www.myspace.com/glaswizz - I made the background using a tutorial for an animated flag. I also made the pic of "me" that I change every few weeks. For New Year's I animated fireworks for my background. Right now I am working on waving flags for pres. day.
www.myspace.com/aaronwal - My husbands page. I made his flames background and his guitar playing dude animation.
As you can see I pretty much I use it for simple playing around. But it came in handy for me while I was trying to start my own business with no money for graphic programs. No money for anything, actually. That was why I taught myself HTML. Too broke to pay someone. I just find it a fantasic alternative to the MUCH more expensive programs.
