Scammer pileup
Hey folks, I just want to offer a personal apology on the slowness of deleting scammers over this week. We had one who was especially prolific on the site, with PMs, events in the calendar, guestbook spam... you name it, it was probably there. It's taken me three days worth of the time that I usually spend on removing these brain-donors just to get rid of that one user (instead of the usual forty-minutes-per-user). Now that I'm past that one I hope to get caught up in the next few days, but I thought I should let everyone know why it looked like we'd had a sudden influx of them, and to again warn everyone about being careful who they give their information to.
I also wanted to let everyone know that we've increased the security on the site again. Banned IP addresses can no longer view the classifieds or forums, even if they are not registered, (we were keeping them from posting or replying through the site before) nor can they log in to an existing account or register a new account. Once they're gone, they're gone for good.
