A nasty virus

In spite of using AVG free I got the "XP antimalware virus". It was not affected by the "Microsoft malicious software removal tool" and put so many popups on my screen (selling an anti virus product)that I finally needed professional assistance.

Kaspersky anti virus was reccommended to me but I haven't tried it yet.

What antivrus products products are others using?

Has anyone heard of a product that is guaranteed?

We have used Kaspersky for the last several years and find it to be great. It's highly rated each year when we look around to see what's good so we just keep using it.

Super AntiSpyware is another program I have used to scan with. I haven't had to use it in a long time. It came in handy once when I had some spyware and I didn't even know it at first. I'd get this window that would pop up about 3 times during the day. I scanned with my antivirus and it didn't find anything. Then I scanned using Microsoft since the window I was getting was a MS window popping up and I thought I'd find the answer there. I did find the problem, but it couldn't be removed.

Then I posted my problem on PC Pitstop's forum. They told me to use Super AntiSpyware. It got rid of the problem.

My favorite....Kaspersky. I also run malware bytes.
