We have been alerted that a series of widely distributed “phishing” email messages have been recently circulating in the Wisconsin area targeting thousands of people. Some of these messages appear to be sent by First National Bank – Fox Valley Area as well as other financial institutions. These messages are fraudulent – do not respond to or take action on them. They should be deleted.
The term phishing is associated with a fraudulent attempt to obtain account and personal information from customers. The phishing emails are attempting to scam customers into providing personal, account, debit and credit card information. These are not legitimate requests for information. Neither our bank nor any legitimate financial institution will ever request personal or account information in this manner.
