I got the idea of adding a did you know section on theBubbler. It will include facts and little known facts about Wisconsin.
Here is the first thing I want to add.
Did you know there used to be two places in Wisconsin called Neshoto (Neshotah)?
Neshotah is an Algonquian Native American word for "twins".
In Manitowoc County, there are twin rivers (East Twin and the West Twin) that come very close together in the town of Two Rivers, about eight miles above the mouth of the rivers. This area was named Neshoto.
In Waukesha County, there are two small lakes lying north of Nemahbin lake, near the east line of the town of Summit. The north lake is two hundred and ninety one feet above Lake Michigan, sixty-seven chains long, thirty-one wide, and has a periphery of two miles. The south lake is seventy-five chains long, twenty-seven wide, and has a periphery of two miles and a quarter. From Increase Lapham's 1844 Geographical and Topographical Description of Wisconsin. This area was named Neshotah.
During the railroad era, it was discouraged to have two towns on the same railroad line by the same or similar name. To encourage the railroad to come through their village the residents of the Manitowoc County Neshoto changed their name to Shoto.
One of the world's most famous pianists, Liberace, was born in West Allis and
raised in Milwaukee area. During the Polish Fest this past summer in Milwaukee they had a very nice display for everyone to view on his life.
Since we visited the Door County area 2 summers ago and traveled the entire area, I found it interesting to read that Door County has more shoreline than any other in the U.S. - over 250 miles.
(I personally found Door County very beautiful but felt the shore line was way to rocky and in some places had a strong smell. Kenosha has a much more beautiful sandy beach to walk on.)
Mount Horeb's internationally known Mustard Museum holds the world's largest mustard collection. The museum contains more than 2,300 varieties of mustard. The museum celebrates National Mustard Day each August.
I spent much of yesterday gathering names and information about Wisconsin Folks. I plan to add this to the WisFolks sites in the coming days.
Somewhere in the forums, I remember posting with other members, 'famous wisconsin people' in our areas.... I think it must be somewhere in the Wisconsin topics. I will try to locate it today and post where it is. Or maybe someone else recalls this post? It has to be at least 6 months to maybe even a year ago.
I checked for the forum listing famous people in Wisconsin and yet to find it...but I did find in the Kenosha County forum a long list of famous Kenosha people:

Mount Horeb’s Story
The unique Village of Mount Horeb, Wisconsin (a.k.a. Mt Horeb, Mt Horeb) resides in Dane County in the south-central part of the state and is today a suburb of the state capitol, Madison. The local Chamber of Commerce calls Mt. Horeb's main street the "Trollway," because troll statues and themes decorate many area businesses. This reputation reflects Mount Horeb's founding by Norwegian immigrants in the 1870s and the growth of its largely Norwegian population throughout the last century.....
