Best fish for?

What do you feel is the best fighting fish to catch? Best eating fish?

To me, for its size, the best fighting fish has to be the bluegill. Could you imagine if a bluegill was the size of salmon? Man that thing would drag you in the water! As far as best tasting fish goes my choice always has been the perch. Lets hear what your best are.

Smallmouths put up a wonderful fight! It seems like any kind of bass is a great fighter. Even the tiny Rock Bass at our local quarry lake can fight!

For eating, I love perch and walleye with a light, crispy breading. Salmon is my definite favorite overall, you can do anything with it.

Well Bass and Salmon are the best fighters...but this little fish is not among the top eating fish or a fish you want on your line, but the bullhead is one strongest fighting little fish. When I was twelve at a cabin up north, I put a worm and bobber out and went to climb trees. I noticed my bobber was down and that bullhead fought so hard and I was sure it was a bass. Boy was I surprised by a 5 inch bullhead.

The second big bite felt like a anchor. I use to fish the Fox River as teen every chance I could get. We would use hot dogs and marshmellows sometime and catch carp for fun and throw them back. One day I had a bite that took a half hour to get in and two guys to net. I caught a 48" channel cat. Nice catch but I returned it back to the Fox river.

My favorite freahwater fish to eat are walleye and then perch.
I like salmon baked and love rainbow trout pan fried.
Pike boiled with butter is ok too if you know how to remove that tricky Y bone.

Bullheads

So true Earl...those bullheads sure can fight cant they? I forgot about those. Sometimes when you catch one you almost feel as if your pulling the plug from the bottom of the lake.

I love catfish fishing. You hook a big cat in a strong river current and you have your hands full! But once you land him, you get some great eating.

I am also a big panfish fan, love catching and eating them too.
