Get the most from your rubber worms

If you like to use rubber worms and nightcrawlers heres a tip that really works. The night before take your rubber worms and add them to your nightcrawlers. The scent of the live worms will get onto your rubber worms and you will get more hits on them. I have done this and it works pretty good.

Treble hooked lures

I have found that by using these types of lures that have 3 sets of treble hooks that my line gets tangled in the hooks, so i found a great solution for that problem. I remove the front and middle set of hooks, seeing as most fish strike from behind, and save those i removed for spare hooks in the future. By doing this i have no more tangles with my line in the hooks and always have spares....just in case.

Well as open water will be soon upon us now is the time to go thru the tackle box. A time to make sure all lures are cleaned up and ready to go. Hook sharpness is important also. Any tackle that has been damaged from the previous year should be discarded. You would hate to lose a trophy fish due to faulty tackle. Fresh line is also important...respool your line with new. I do mine yearly depending on how often i fish. Sometimes a certain rod will be respooled 3 times a year...other rods may only get it done once every 2 years. If you fish from a pier and its quite a walk out limit your gear. You have to remember that what you carry out is the same gear you have to carry back, plus fish so your weight and load will change. One good idea is to pull along a small childs wagon with your rods and gear inside it. A wagon with sides would also be a great help. Hope this helps and cya on the water!

kmfarm is on a distinguished road
I like using crayfish colored tubes for smallies. Toss them upstream, let it settle, then give them a bounce and let the current bring it back. Works great. The old standy nightcrawler on a hook still works too. I like the real thing, not plastic.
