Blind DNR

For the last 6 months I've been working on a 38 story condo project in Milwaukee right next to the Mc Kinley harbor and all that time , every day , rain, snow or shine I observed a terriblble putred redish brown discharge spulling out of the Milwaukee river outlet into the breakwater and drifting into the big lake. Every day the breakwater is halfway filled with this crap and I never hear anyone complain. John Gilespie tells you to fish in it, what a crime. Some Milwaukee council wants to find out why beaches have to close , what a joke . I'd like to know what bigwig paid off the DNR to dump their waste in the river . Does anyone else care about this , if so what can we do about it. Why doesn't one of those fancy news helicopters that hover over the lake front every mourning for the mourning news flie slowly over the river from its outlet filming the water color till it clears up to find the source of the pollution. The DNR will jump all over some farmer in Washington or Ozaukee county and fine him tens of thousands of dollars for runoff but just ignore this. Again the law is blind and can be paid off. If anyone knows what could possibly be done please let me know Who can I complain to? I'll even take pictures from the project if I have to to show the soup that all those rich people are sailing and boating through allday. If this was happening in Eagle River or Boulder Junction you'd hear about it all over the world and a sollution would be found swiftly.

It's all about money.

The DNR is an arm of the State. So if the price is right, and you pay enough to the State, you can do things like this. Keep in mind, the DNR has more power than law enforcement and can trample your rights without fear of repercussion.

Mark is right... The Govenor (Adolf Doyle) is in complete charge of the DNR. His policy has been to be more leaniant on big buisness polution so we can keep the buisness in Wisconsin thriving  If you ask me, there is no excuse to polute Wisconsin.

Scarberry2003 will become famous soon enough
I would make a complaint to the state Dept of Environmental Protection. As someone who has worked in the area of EP for over 15 years, this is something that they should not ignore, but if they do, it warrants a call to the EPA. They won't mess around, and they will find out why a particular state has ignored previous complaints. Just doccument every complaint you make and send them copies. The Clean Water Act was put in place for a reason, and I do know that the EPA does enforce it.

This is from someone who has seen the serious fines and penalties that a company, even a very large one with lots of power and pull,, has been hit with just for a minor incident.

Keep me posted, even though I don't work EP any more, I still take an interest in things like this.
