Pizza Casserole
Author: AlumniClub
Time:
30 minutes
Difficulty:
Easy
Serving Size:
7
Description
I found this recipe online a few years ago and make it frequently for a hearty meal. The recipe comes together quickly, perfect for busy evenings.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups uncooked egg noodles
  • 1/2 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni sausage
  • 16 ounces pizza sauce
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup shredded mozzerella cheese
Preparation
No prior preparation is required.
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles according to package directions.
  2. In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef with the onion, garlic and green bell pepper. Drain excess fat from beef. Stir in the noodles, pepperoni, pizza sauce and milk, and mix well. Pour this mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish.
  3. Bake at for 20 minutes, top with the cheese, then bake for 5 to 10 more minutes.

Thumbs up Re: Pizza Casserole

I've made something very similar to this before but used uncooked noodles, left out the ground beef and layered it in a large, glass casserole dish.

You first spray the dish with non stick spray then put a small layer of pizza sauce on the bottom. Put in a layer of uncooked noodles, followed by a layer of pepperoni slices, peppers, and a generous layer of pizza sauce topped with shredded cheese. Repeat this again and then on top have a small layer of noodles and cover with a generous amount of pizza sauce and bunch of cheese on top. Garnish with a few green pepper rings.

Make sure you bring the sauce all the way to the edges and see that it is down the sides so it covers and cooks the noodles.

Easy and excellent every time.

pk, what kind of noodles do you use for this? Egg noodles? Not having to boil the noodles sure saves time!

Re: Pizza Casserole

Sorry I did not notice the question until now...I use egg noodles about a medium size.

You can also add crumbled cooked Italian sauage (pizza sauage) to this also.

Good thing I just ate some pizza or I would be hungry just thinking about this. lol
