I'm Amber, Never had a dog as a family pet but am a dog lover indeed. I can't walk past any canine without speaking some friendly words and gesturing a pampering pet to the animal. Someday I hope to have a dog, which I'll call my own. He'll be just as much of a joy as my current babies the Birds and Bunnies.
I'll gladly give a wonderful home to any of following favorite American Breeds or an adorable mutt adopted from the Humane Society.
Alaskan Malamute
American Foxhound
Chesapeake Bay Retriever
Golden Retriever
Labradors
Pittbull
Rottweiler

If you talk to the animals they will talk to you, If you do not talk to them you will not know them. And what you do not know you will fear. What one fears, one destroys. ~Chief Dan George. (1899 - 1981)
Hi my name is Connie and I live IN Milwaukee, WI. Here is my beautiful purebred golden retriever, Bear. We have had him since he was a puppy and he will be 4 years old on December 4 (golden birthday). He truly is a family dog. He tolerates my 2.5 year old daughter playing with him, chasing him around the yard covering him up with a blanket and making him lie down on a pillow. So, he gets lots of hugs and treats for being a good boy.
We also have a black cat (princess) and a hamster (peaches).
My hubby and I live in Franklin and are the proud parents of two very spoiled 5 month old collie pups, Kobe and Kato. They are our grandbabies since our kids aren't producing any grandchildren thus far! Earlier this summer our 15 1/2 year old collie died. For the next few weeks the house was very quiet. At that point we knew we had to get a puppy. Well, one puppy quickly turned to two and we had to leave the breeder quickly before two became three!
Our pups have already been camping a few times and make regular trips to the pet store and the park. We are always on the lookout for a good place to take the pups to run and exercise.
My name is Karen and I am a dog lover too. I love all animals. We currently have 10 dogs. We breed Miniature Dachshunds - Buster (our male) and his harem Angel, Lacey, Trey, and Porky. We have three Beagles - annoying things but somehow I got a spot in my heart that can only be filled with a Beagle - their names are Christy, Betty and Bobbi. And we have Millie, my husband's English Bulldog. And Ellie, our All American Sporting/Herding/Guarding/Frogging Dog. This whole gang lives in our home except two of the Beagles - who make visits from their kennel to the living room to watch TV with our family. I'm working on my husband to get Betty and Bobbi permanent "in house" accomodation. Eight dogs in the house, what's two more? Hee Hee
We also have goats, horses and cats.

Reason: just want to ad something
Beagles are 'sounding off' to let you know what a wonderful person you are. I had some upstairs neighbors that had a beagle. The lady's yelling at the dog was more annoying than the dog was, so I told her that he was just telling her that he thought she was a magnificent person, and was honored to be in her presence. This seemed to calm her down, and subside the yelling. The dog didn't quit, though.
Beagles are super vocal. But ours aren't too bad. They bark when they first see somebody but they pretty much quit after that. They might have to tell one of the cats off once in a while too.
You just have to know what you're getting into when you get a Beagle - they crave a lot of attention and they are vocal. They don't get the attention, they'll ask for it.
I'd much rather have to listen too ou-ou-ou-ou! than yap-yap-yap!

Hello Everybody,
My name is Gary, I just turned 34, and I was born and raised in Northern Outagamie County. My nature education has come from my parents, grandparents and a heck of a guy named Gordon. Typically, my area of recreation has been in Northern Forest County, where I hunt, fish, camp, kayak, hike, shoot photos, etc. I am married to the love of my life, Kim, and we have 2 rescued animals, Pepe (medium length haired domestic-cat) and Cali (GS dog). I get full time pay for managing Veterinary Practice's pet food business, for Nestle Purina PetCare, and part time pay for putting out fires as a volunteer firefighter since 1991. In April of 07 I was elected to our Village's Board of Trustees, where I attempt to put out more fires (ha ha). My motto is this,"We will disagree at one point or another. So state you case, we will bicker, and then we move on. Leave the baggage at the door."
My name is Debra from Franklin, WI and I am a huge dog lover as well as love all animals.
Recently I launched Animal Fairy Charities, Inc. (Page 1) which is a non profit organization to help fund dog rescues, other animal rescues as well as other animal charitable organizations. I am looking for some good canine rescues that may need help in our state as we are going to be launching our next campaign for helping those who help Canines.

Hi, My name is Edie and my mom rescued me a few years ago. I spent most of my early life in shelters and was last confined to an attic because I couldnt get along with other dogs. I was a very sad and lonely dog.
Well, my mom took a chance on me and I've conformed a little since my early days. I now have a (king size) little brother (who's a real pain in the neck - see photo!), but he does keep me in shape.
My mom and I like to pass the word about finding homes for shelter pets and temporary foster care for those needing temporary homes (as opposed to giving up a loved pet in times of crisis). We would love to have your referrals to post on our website (category) "Pets in Need". Thanks, we appreciate your help!

Hello, I'm Vinnie's mommy, and the founder of Edera Great Danes. Our crew consists of a Dane of course, a Quarter Horse, and two endearing little Lovebirds. This seems to be a nice place for a dog lover to hang out at!
Hello One and All,
My Name is Cristine Crum, and I live way up in Superior, wisconsin. Things here this Winter
have not been really all that cold or snowy, Everyone in Madison an on down seems to be
getting all the snow.
Superior Wisconsin is a nice town with a small town attitude, but I have a feeling within the
next few years Superior will be Growing like wildfire. The mines in the area are exploding, and
Murphy oil is planning on a 6 Billion dollar expansion of there oil plant. This means more jobs for the area, which is a really good thing. Things here in Superior have been sort of a stand still,
with little or no opportunity for good paying jobs, so the future here is begginning to look a little more opptimistic.
The Super Walmart moved in and well to be honest, it was the death of many small businesses in our area. Being a small Business owner myself, i cringe every time I see a new super walmart open somewhere else.
As I said I am a small business owner.
I own 3 businesses within a nostalgic renovated train depot called,
"THE WINTER STREET DEPOT".
The Northern Edge is filled with gifts, bath and body items, beautiful jewlery and so much more, we also do custom t-shirts, hats and sweatshirts.
The Candy Caboose is a candy store filled to the brim with sweet treats to tantalize any taste bud. We carry Nostalgic candies, from long ago, candy caboose coffee, and fresh fudge from Hayward.
Our newest venture is P.I. PLANNING...YOUR PARTY INVESTIGATORS. This is our party and event planning business, that I think will begin taking off like gangbusters very soon. P.I. Planning is your one stop shop for all your party and event planning and management needs.
My Husband and I also own a business call Superior Portage Pads, we make custom portage pads, wholesale for outfitters and businesses such as Rhutabaga, Piragis and more.
Check them out, we have an online store on the northern edge with lots of goodies including
gift baskets for every occasion
The winter street depot is celebrating a mile stone this year, this building is 100 years old.
Here is a bit of the History of the Winter Street Depot
by : Jodi Rochon
For the Winter Street Depot the beginning goes back to July 1, 1908 when Schmidt Bros & Hill was awarded the contract to build a passenger depot, freight depot, store house, round house, cinder pit, turntable and machine shop for the Wisconsin Central Railroad. The plan was for the passenger depot to be located on Winter Street between John and Ogden Avenues, the freight depot across John Avenue in the next block and the shops and round house to be located about one mile south of Belknap Street.
The contract price was just over $95,000.00 (for all the structures) and at that time it was the largest contract undertaken by the local firm. Amazingly, the contract stated the work must be completed in 90 days. It was the plan of the Wisconsin Central Railroad to be running trains in and out of Superior by the first of October. This however did not occur.
The project started on July 1st and was completed December 15th, 1908. A reception was held in late December to welcome the railroad to Superior and to celebrate the new grand depot. City officials, as well as dignitaries from the headquarters of Wisconsin Central in Chicago, participated in this event.
For many of us the Wisconsin Central Depot has always been known as the Soo Line Depot. The Soo Line became involved with the Wisconsin Central in 1909. My research shows that the Soo Line never actually purchased the property from the Wisconsin Central Railway but operated the properties under several agreements, the first of which was dated April 1, 1909. The Soo Line operated the Wisconsin Central as an agent for the trustees of the property.
For many years this vintage treasure served the area as one of the towns busiest travel hubs. For the men and women who traveled the area, and the people who worked for the rails over the years, the depot is a shrine to the "good old days".
Standing on the back platform with eyes closed a person can almost see and hear the old coal fired locomotives chugging to a stop. One can only imagine the excitement as travelers arrived to meet friends and relatives. This process was repeated several times a day for decades until trains were later replaced by planes and automobiles.
Later came the diesel powered locomotives, the cargo changed from people to lumber, iron ore and grain. Still for many years the depot was the office for the crews that worked the rails. However, the railroad mergers and big business changing the way railroads operated caused most of the countries train stations to close.
After sitting vacant for a few years it caught the eye of Jim and Faith DeMeyer. Jim grew up in the area and always had a love for this building. After learning that the depot was up for sale and/or possible demolition, Jim suggested to six of his fellow reps, from the firm he was working for, his idea to purchase the building and lease office space back to the firm. His plan was to convert a portion of the building into a home for him and his family. As it turned out the company Jim worked for did not agree with his plans but that certainly did not deter him from his dream. In October of 1992, Jim, his wife, Faith, along with their two sons moved into the 6,700 square foot building. A building that had no heat, no hot water, no kitchen and no area designated for bedrooms. Their dream was to renovate the depot to its original look of the early 1900's.
Shortly after moving into their new home the DeMeyer family was contacted by Hollywood. There was interest in using the depot for a portion of the filming of the Disney production, "Iron Will", produced by Charles Haid former star of the hit show "Hill Street Blues". The film cast was impressive with Oscar Winner, Kevin Spacey as part of the mix. In 1993 filming began and Hollywood came to Superior, Wisconsin. It was an exciting time for the family and they took away from the experience many fond memories.
Currently, Jim DeMeyer and his three children, Adam (17), Alex (14) and Samantha (11) live in a totally renovated portion of the depot.
After years of hard work and determination one of Jim’s longtime dreams has come true. Jim always wanted to create a special setting for local artists and craftsmen to display and sell their wares. That dream is now reality. Congratulations Jim!
Jim invites you to visit the Winter Street Depot and experience this beautiful historic building in a whole new way. The Depot offers a unique opportunity for people of all ages. Whether you are site seeing or looking for that special gift item, you can find it at the Winter Street Depot. Old fashioned candy, bath and body products, specialized pillows, quilts, pottery, woodworking, watercolors, photography, handmade soaps and collectibles.
Through the years Jim’s love for this historic building has only grown. His passion is clear and direct, similar to his sparkling personality.
On behalf of the many citizens of Superior who along with myself love these old structures, Thank You Jim DeMeyer! Thank you for your passion for this building. Thank you for all you have endured through the years and through the ups and downs in your life. Your wife, Faith (deceased), would be so proud of your progress along with your many friends and relatives.
Thank-you for taking time to read this and Have A wonderful day!
