Hi, I am looking for a good watchdog. Not a mean dog, just has to sound mean. LOL Anyone know of one reasonably priced or free? I've been looking but most want quite a bit for them.
You're probably already doing this, but keep an eye on our classifieds. We have a tremendous amount of pets that are being bought and sold through our classifieds. If you haven't already, you may want to post a classified looking for one.
Also, you may want to just go visit your local animal shelters. All but one of my dogs (when I was living in places I could have dogs, unlike now :cry: ) has come from a shelter and they haven't been too terribly expensive.
Another good source is to talk to Karen Majeski. Her organization has been transporting dogs from the Hurricane Katrina area to Wisconsin. these dogs desperately need a home. I am not sure if they are even charging people to adopt the dogs, but they request your to fill out an adoption application. She has been contacting me aobut adopting one, but I am fostering a German shorthaired Pointer from the GSP Rescue of Wisconsin.

As long as your dog is well cared for and loved,it will always protect you/your house. Any dog that is medium sized to large can sound mean.No little yippy things.LOL!(they can get vicious but ...)

It's a website for people to post dogs that need new homes, and there are many nice dogs there.
Most are priced pretty low.
