I had to watch this twice thinking how I have to show this to my youngest daughter that loves both..dogs and GREASE! lol

But I was saddened to read the lastest comment showing under the video:

10/12/07 Rookie is very much alive. We are sad to report that he has been diagnosed with cancer. Rookie will be 15 years old this year. Please keep him and Carolyn in your prayers...

Here is a link to another tribute video for Rookie. I read that Carolyn had polio as a child and now having complications from that now. So they both need our prayers.

Wow.

I never heard of this lady, nor her dog before your post ...but I think I will remember them both for a long time to come.

Great video. Awesome team. They both looked so loved.

A few weeks back I found an email address for Carolyn and Rookie. I sent an email because no where can it be found if Rookie passed away from his cancer or is still alive. I woke up this morning to an email from Carolyn herself. Here is my email to her and her response:

Hi Carolyn:

As I was watching a video sent to me about Rookie and his Grease performance, all I could say was WOW. I have shared that video with lots of people. I belong to a site called TheBubbler.com and someone posted on there to keep Rookie in our thoughts and prayers as he was diagnosed with cancer. I cried. I watched the tribute video and cried some more. Please give great comfort to know that Rookie has had a great life, not like the suffering animals that have never been loved. In this day and age, there are so many unwanted animals and neglect if we all just can do our little part then that is the best we can do.

I have been trying to find out the progress of Rookie's health. No where does it say. Please accept our thoughts and prayers not only for Rookie but for you, Carolyn. People you don't even know are pulling for you.

Hi Kelly,

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to write. I am way behind on my email but now am trying to catch up. Thank you so much for writing. Yes, Rookie has been diagnosed with Cancer. I found a lump close to his right elbow. My vet removed it and he came through the surgery with flying colors. Right afterward I found three more small lumps next to his spine on the right side.

Rookie will be 15 years old in January. I decided I am not going to put him through anything else. He is feeling great and getting rather fat and sassy. : ) I have cancelled all my seminars for the time being. I can’t bear to be away from home these days. Please share with your friends Rookie is going strong and still full of himself.

Thank you so much for writing. It is so nice to hear from Rookie’s fans. : )
