Dachshund Reunited With Family 17 Months Later
Dog's ID Chip Brings Her Home

The streets of the Bronx can be pretty tough.
But Ruthie the dachshund seems to have survived nearly a year-and-a-half just fine.
Ruthie disappeared 17 months ago from a car in suburban Long Island. She was found 25 miles away.
Someone dropped Ruthie off at a shelter, where a scan turned up a microchip ID.
Ruthie was just a pup of eight months when Noel Werden and her daughter, Sara, lost her. In the meantime, Ruthie gained 10 pounds and a new companion.
The family had gotten another dachshund when they feared Ruthie was gone for good.
