Re: Frozen Strawberry Crunch Dessert

Do you need a good laugh?

The recipe calls for walnuts, I used pecans, because I like them better.

The recipe says to use butter and all I had was margarine.

It asks for 10 oz. of strawberries, I bet I had a bigger container than that.

The recipe wants you to use regular Cool Whip, I ended up using the lite kind.

The directions say to use a glass pan, but I only have a metal 9x13.

Yeah, this is how I cook. lol

Re: Frozen Strawberry Crunch Dessert

So, did the recipe work out after all the substitutions? You nearly posted a different recipe than you prepared! LOL!

Sounds like a real sweety!

Re: Frozen Strawberry Crunch Dessert

Yes, it all turned out.

I forgot to add that I didn't butter the pan. I sprayed it with Pam instead. I also didn't wait 20 minutes to let the dessert sit out. We ate it right away since it doesn't freeze real solid. It kind of reminds me of those frozen pies we used to get years ago that came in lemon and strawberry with the graham cracker crust. You could eat them frozen or thawed out. We always ate them frozen. I think they were made by Pet Ritz.
