THE Best Cut Cookies - Just in time for Christmas!
Mix together sugar, lard and beaten eggs; add sour cream with baking soda mixed into it, vanilla, salt baking powder and flour. Add more flour if needed. Chill dough until ready to cut out and bake. Bake 375 degrees for 8 - 12 minutes.
DECORATING FROSTING (COOKIES)
2 egg whites
2 1/2 c. powder sugar
1/4 c. light corn syrup
assortment of food coloring (optional)
Beat egg whites until they hold soft peaks. Add sugar gradually. Beat until sugar is dissolved and frosting stands in peaks. Add corn syrup. Beat 1 minute. If desired, add food coloring to get desired colors. Add a few drops of water if a thinner frosting is desired. Keep frosting well-covered when not in use.
