It always gets freezing cold after a snowstorm in Wisconsin. Here shows how even Lake Michigan can get a lot of frozen areas with snow on it in the Winter.
Thanks.. my favorite saying is "over 20 feet of water" when it rains or "8 feet of snow" when it snows.. I just love bad weather.
I'm not sure why anybody would love bad weather. If you had to drive places, it would make a big difference. How about thinking about how that inconveniences others or that bad weather causes deaths. See? I can ruin anyone's fun.
When I lived in Virginia, we had a "dusting" of snow.. it barely covered the lawn with a dry, fluffy snow. My asst. manager where I worked called in and said she couldn't drive in "that" snow and consequently was fired.
I don't know why I like bad weather.. it's just always fascinated me since I was little. We had a tin roof on the balcony outside my bedroom at our farmhouse and I used to love listening to the rain hit that.

Wow Blue...you certainly can 'rain' on some one's parade, can't you??
lol..sorry, couldn't help it...'rain', got it? Little pun. pk, making a joke. lol
OK, actually Dave, I totally agree with Blue. If you had to be at certain places on time, especially in the early morning, and driving a distance is a must, and you had a long driveway on top of it....you would see why the rest of us are not in favor of bad weather especially snow.
If I had no where to go or didn't have to worry about driving and could just stay indoors without to much of a fuss about it, I think I would enjoy watching it snow hard and the beauty of it all. Or laying in bed listening to the rain hit the windows and I knew I could just stay cuddled with a big comfy quilt. But sadly, life gets in the way of Mother Nature and that is why I frown when I see a snow storm coming on a school day. Yuck.
Oh and no, I didn't always hate bad weather. When I was a kid I loved the huge snowstorms we use to get. Sledding, building snow forts, snowball fights were all so much fun. Getting a snow day from school was really great. In the summer we loved to run out in the rain and smash through mud puddles.
Even when I was first married I didn't mind the snow so much. My first husband use to get up way before me and he made sure my car was cleaned when he was doing his and shoveled. Or we would have time to do it together. So for some reason when you are younger the dangers of a heavy snow storm, or an ice storm didn't seem as bad.
In other words....getting older makes one dislike the work that bad weather brings on. . .
I've had to shovel many a driveway despite the fact I personally don't drive and have walked home 15 miles in a blizzard when I've missed a bus.. I still enjoy bad weather.

It's not just the driving and shoveling in snow. Since rain was brought up, what about floods? Dave, ever have to deal with a flooded basement or having your house wash away? What about tornadoes? Then there are those that get ice storms and are without power for days. See what I mean about others suffering from bad weather.
Dave just doesn't remember how bad shoveling is. Think of the time spent on shoveling that could be used for other things. I'll think of my aching back last night from the little bit of shoveling I did. I have been exercising my arms and upper body for the last month to get ready for shoveling and I still had a sore back. I even exercised right before heading outside yesterday.

At least school gets canceled. When I was taking my classes they almost never closed school down and I still had to drive in the dark and that was a 40 minute drive in good weather. Teachers are mean to college students.
Actually, we had a basement that was flooded to the ceiling.. we had to sandbag our yard each spring while living on Manitou Bay in NY.
We've had snow literally cover the house (had to dig our way out our bathroom window) when we lived on Lake Ontario.
I've had to shovel walkways and driveways where the snow was up to my waist.
I've been thru many an ice storm.. one that destroyed nearly 30% of the trees in our city.
I'm not wishing bad weather on anyone else.. and I don't wish any kind of damage on anyone else.
I'm not saying you have to like bad weather.. I just don't mind bad weather myself..

After having been through all that, I have a hard time understanding why you would like bad weather. That's like wishing for your house to burn down or something.
I'll just send all the bad weather your way since I don't want it here. Right now snow isn't a good thing for me. I'm by myself and have to worry about the driveway. I have to worry about getting in to see my husband. Believe me, that's important for both of our sanities. A day feels like a week to us right now.
