Re: How the heck do you pronounce this town's name?
My guess would be to say it like Earnie. Any other guesses?

Yep, it's pronounced "Earnie"
Cheap drinks and good chili at the Urne bar. I think it says "Whitetail bar" or something on the front of the building, but everyone calls it the Urne bar.

Rudy and his friend, Buddy were driving through Wisconsin. As they were approaching Oconomowoc, they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name. They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch.
As they stood at the counter, Rudy asked the blond employee. "Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are... very slowly?
The employee leaned over the counter and said, Burrrrrr, gerrrrrr, Kiiiing."
Re: How the heck do you pronounce this town's name?
I heard a commercial on the radio, the other day, for something going on in Waukesha. The woman talking on the commercial kept pronouncing it, "wah KEY shaw". She must have said it like 10 times. I don't know about you, but if you're going to run a commercial somewhere wouldn't you do a little research into the area first? I mean at least get the name of the city right!! C'mon!

There is a small town not to far from us that I am not sure how it is suppose to sound. I have heard it said two different ways and every time I ask someone I get one way or the other. (Trevor, Wi)
So does anyone know if it is suppose to be TrEvor...long E sound, or Trevor, with a short E sound?

They have Nevada which they pronouce Na-vA (long A)-duh
In Oklahoma, there's a casino town pronounced My-am-muh (Miami, what else?)

There was a town in Utah named Hurricane which they pronounced Hurr-i-kin. In Arizona Prescott was pronounced Pres-kit. And why on earth would a Utah town be named Hurricane? I guess because naming a Florida town Hurricane would make everyone move out of it.
