Speaking of Chili....I just made that about 4 days ago. Boy was it good!
Also, we lived down south for awhile. Up here, Chili has noodles...only kind of chili I like. Down south (Arkansas) when you ask them if it comes with noodles they look at you like you are retarded. That is called ChiliMac.

I was born and raised a Wisconsinite, but I prefer lotsa meat and no noodles. Pour on the onions and the cheddar cheese though...that's the way I like it.
Love to make a huge crock pot of Chili this time of year. I can only eat very little of it since it usually makes me sick. But everyone here loves chili. Grated sharp cheddar on top is good, but hold the chunks of onions.
I sometimes make this in a large pan and put dallops of corn bread mixture all over the top and bake it. That makes a great meal also.

Now that's different. So the chili is already cooked and you are adding it to a pan, adding the corn bread mixture and baking it at what temp and how long??
Carol
Chili Mac is also great when you want to make the regular chili with a different twist to it.
No matter how you make it, homemade corn bread is great with Chili.

You make homemade corn bread PK??? YUMMY!!
I will admit, I cheat and use the stuff from the box.
Ever try the corn break at the Cracker Barrel? That's real good
Carol
Corn bread is a must with chili! You can't beat the cheap Jiffy mix from a box.
Our usual chili at home starts with Bear Creek's chili mix. We load it up with beans and vegetables... no meat! It's so hearty we don't miss the meat at all.
We do occasionally do exotic chili. We entered a white chili with chicken and pineapple in the LeRoy Butler Chili Cookoff at Dells TimberLand campground this year. We didn't win any prizes, but I think we expanded some chili horizons that day!

Not really. It just makes it more soupy. Here's my "recipe":
About a pound of hamburger
light red kidney beans, chili beans (the kind that's meant to be chili already with the sauce)
macaroni noodles
picante sauce
sometimes onions if I'm feeling amibitous
Enough V8 to make it soupy
That's how my family makes it, except my mom puts canned tomatoes in which I can't stand. It's probably not chili anymore to a purist, but I like it. It freezes pretty well, too, other than the noodles get a bit mushy.
