My fish rescue business is in danger. Can you help?

Well, as of today, no phone calls or emails from anyone after the article in the paper came out. I hope today will bring a different day. As I pulled in the driveway today from taking my kids to school, the news on the radio came on. They said disconnects this year are tremendously this year. Only 12% of people have called in to make arrangements. Others are avoiding the dreaded day next week. Maybe because when you try and call you get some arrogant person who thinks they are better than you and doesn't understand. Sure they are doing their job, but they don't have to be so cruel. It is not like people don't try. That is just depressing. As I told the reporter I know I am not the only one facing this problem on the 15th. The economy is bad for a lot of folks out there. That is why it kills me to ask for help when there are others out there in another boat, but floating down the same river. Why should people help me? Maybe that is why not many have. Who knows.

I did wake up this morning to have someone donate $20 to Finned Friends. Not sure where she read this at, but I will be sending out a thank you. We raised a total of $40 and it has been over a week and we only have 5 days left.

Again, thanks for all those on here that have helped me send numereous emails. If only you knew what my daughter did and asked yesterday this would break your heart even more.

Well Kelly, I thought this is crazy that you are getting no where as far as help especially from your own town. So I sat down and started making phone calls in your area. I was hoping that phone calls could result in answers since none of the many emails I have sent everywhere not just in your area but that of surrounding areas have resulted in even one reply back.

Well, your Chamber of Commerce someone named Krista was very nice, seemed interested and willing to take down your website and pass the info to her director. This gave me hope....well that was about it. Your mayor's office didn't even want to take the time to write down the website address clearly letting me know that she had no time for it.

The city lawyer was nicer to talk to but he had totally no clue as to what you can do. Apparently the message I got is that you are out of luck if you think your city will help in any way. I pushed the fact that yes, many people will be in your situation in a few days. (electric cut) I get that. But what about the 12,000 fish that rely on the air supply to live? Isn't that a concern to know that all these beautiful creatures will slowly die in 5 days if there is no help?

Well what would be done if people knew a home had a ton of dogs that was about to suffocate and die slowly? Certainly someone would step in and offer help? Maybe a Church fundraiser? A bar holding a special dance?? I kinda got the message today that would be different. grrrrrr

I'm so sorry but I think I have exhausted all the avenues that I could think of to help. Guess it's in the hands of those that read the forums and news articles and of course God as to how this plays out.

I just got home and saw you made a donation. This makes me so happy, you have no idea. I did send you an email via my Web email. I hope you receive it. Again, thanks so much. Any bit will help and all add up in the end. I just received one more donation from a person in Ohio named Wayne. Not sure where he read this from, but wanted to say thanks for that too.

Patti, it sure is sad to live in an area where help is scarce. I think people didn't believe me when I kept saying I have tried this or tried that. See why I want to make a differnce up here? Because there are just way too many people that don't want to help or just don't care. I thought by making a difference I could pay it forward and be one of the ones who did care. Now you know why all the tears. And believe me, many was shed already today.

Well today in the mail was another donation. From whom, I do not know. They never left a return address. In a beautiful fish envelope. This brings my total donations up to 5. I am hoping tomorrow brings a better day as today has been extremely rough. Thank you all who have helped in any which way, kind words and donations. Who knows, maybe I will wake to more surprises. Once tomorrow comes I will be down to 4 days.

That's so wonderful to read that donations are starting to come in to help you. There is a lot of really great people out there with kind hearts and it's just the matter of getting the word out. I'm sure with all the networking going on and the news story each day should be good. Will it be enough? I have no idea but it's good to see that people do care.

Thank you Patti. I woke up this morning to have a local lady send me my 6th donation. I am so grateful for the help people are starting to show with the donation aspect. With only 4 days left, I still have a long way to go. I am praying my miracle will come through and it will all work out in the end.

The paper did come out today. And as he said, he didn't know if he would be able to talk the big guys in letting him write about anything bad or the need. Well, he must not have been able to. The article in the paper was so cool cause the setting was a fish bowl with a few of my pictures surrounding it. I will have to see if I can scan it just so you can see how neat it looks. What a totally cool article Kelly.

I truly hope that everyone here and in your area reads this. I really have faith that people reading this post, looking at the pictures of your beautiful fish, reading the articles in your local area paper, that they will open their hearts and their pocket books and send what they can to help. Any amount will help since it all adds up. With the paypal button on your website it makes it even easier to send money.

Please remember you have many people out here that care and have been following your story.

If not if you go to my site, click on the Rescue tab, the link is in there. I appreciate any help. I haven't received any donations at all today. I have gotten a total of 10 so far. So am grateful for all the help, donations, ideas, kind words. They all mean so much. Especially after someone has sent out a SCAM email to people I know. Saying I am deceitful, a scam artist, how I can't sleep at night because all I do is think of how I can SCAM people. This really hurt and I have been down in the dumps all day about this.

I just want everyone here to know that I swear to God that I am not any of that. Those who know me knows that I would give the shirt off my back to help someone, so why someone wants to hurt me, I don't know. It just hurts.
