Things to do and things to avoid in Madison

Things you should check out if you are in Madison (in Dane County of course):

Ella's Deli: A great place for kids and kids at heart. They have plenty of old toys, posters and all kinds of things like that. Great food, great entertainment and probably one of the best places for a great dessert in Madison.

Essen Haus: Great german restaurant, with many things to choose from. Plus dancing and music as well.

Henry Vilas Zoo: A free zoo that is great. It's run by donations, and probably always will be. It now has a carousal that is only $1 a ride.

Madison Mallards Baseball: Great family fun. The tickets prices are decent, and the team is usually good. They are a minor league team, and several of the players in the past have gotten signed by major league baseball teams.

Places to avoid:

Denny's by West Town Mall: Denny's has good food, but the service at this Denny's is just horrible. It's busy alot (so the people in charge should know to have alot of staff), but they don't. There is many empty tables, but certainly not enough waiters to seat people. The wait time is 20 minutes or MORE. It's a lie basically, they say "just 20 minutes", and then it's double that (or even more).

More places to be added later on. Feel free to add on, if you know of places you love (or hate) as well.

Kris10 will become famous soon enough
State Street is a great shopping area, I always leave Ragstock with something.

Ella's Deli is fantastic! The food is awesome and you can't take in all the decor in just one visit.

Here is some more:

Frugal Muse Books: I'm pretty sure this is a Madison only book store. They have several locations and great prices. It's a used book store with a huge selection of books, music and movies to choose from.

Topper's: While this pizza place isn't Madison only, they have great cheese breadsticks! Get a triple order of cheese sticks with dipping sauces, and you will love it.

Pizza Extreme: Great deep dish Chicago style pizza at an affordable price.

Capital City Comics: Great comic store that has new and old comics. Nice selection for any fan of comic books.

I love The Frugal Muse bookstore! Half Price Books isn't bad either - a little more "mainstream" than Frugal Muse.

NONE of the Denny's in Madison have great service - and same goes for Perkins.
