The year is 1881. The Maxwell brothers are the objects of the Midwest’s largest manhunt ever for the killing of two lawmen, the Coleman brothers, on the streets of Durand,
WI. Resisting arrest in Illinois, they killed a sheriff & wounded two deputies. Captured in a gunfight in Nebraska, Ed Maxwell is returned to Durand for trial, but is lynched before the event. It is hard to believe that this newly-researched piece of Wisconsin history is a love story! Join Les Kruger, author of Brothers in Blood, for this slide lecture. A book signing will follow the program.
