I know, some will cry sacrilege asking about instant coffee but other than the Folger's instant singles (which I love), a jar of instant coffee is sometimes handy to have when you can't or don't want to make a whole pot.
We don't drink coffee here at all but I do keep a jar of instant Folgers in the cupboard for when we have company who does drink it. My mom has always used Folgers coffee for as long as I can remember. I also remember she used to save the can and store bacon grease in it for when she fried up other foods.
Folgers, hands down! ....unless you want to spend $$$$ on Starbucks singes - yum! Got some for Christmas and couldn't wait to drink it even though I wanted to make it last.
Having a cup of Folgers now. 1:19 am - still working. At least I didn't brew a pot.
I also would select Folgers... but then I would select Folgers for my most favorite brewed coffee.
Coffee brewed at home (any brand) is the best and I always carry a cup to work in my special "OnYourMark, LLC." travel cup

....Now, a very great man once said
That some people rob you with a fountain pen
It didn’t take too long to find out
Just what he was talkin’ about
A lot of people don’t have much food on their table
But they got a lot of forks ’n’ knives
And they gotta cut somethin’....

No coffee drinkers here. When I was growing up, my parents weren't either, but my mom started drinking it a few years ago, but only the flavored kind. I don't think I'll be following her on that one.
Berres Brothers in Watertown has a lot of different flavors to pick from if you like a variety. You can buy it made by the cup or buy whole beans to take home. They also serve sandwiches and so on.
Ever tried Postum as a coffee substitute? That stuff is nasty!
Yup, Postum should be out-lawed. It's like I'd imagine rat food/poison to be.
Personally, I prefer brewed over instant. I really don't care what brand it is. My coffee drinking career began, for the most part, while serving in the US Navy. Don't know what brand it was, as the label on the can said, "Coffee, ground" and had a Mil-Spec number.
I like to use instant coffee in frostings, icings, glazings, and ganaches.
Dunkin Donuts in Rochester, NY used to serve a brand called "David's Roasted" that was delicious..
I wasn't much of a coffee drinker until recently. Bought a jar of instant last month and have had at least a cup a day since.. best thing with glazed donuts or cheesecake.
I have my Bunn Coffee Maker, plenty of filters, purified water, some store brand ground coffee, and lotsa coffee mugs. These items along with PB&J sammies, and there isn't much else needed to please me (in the short term).
