Horseradish Sauce

Was just thinking earlier about how much I used to love Arby's horseradish sauce on tater tots, hash browns, and roast beef.. yum!

Anyone else like it as much as I do? Maybe another brand but similar?

Re: Horseradish Sauce

I buy a bottle of the creamy horseradish sauce and put it on my sandwiches and wraps instead of mayo. Gives it some good zip to clear up those stuffed sinuses. I'm not even sure what brand I buy, it's all the same.

Re: Horseradish Sauce

I agree .. they're pretty much the same but I also agree that it can make all the difference when eating. My favorite is with tater tots or roast beef sandwiches..

Re: Horseradish Sauce

I enjoy a smathering of Horse Radish Sauce on my sunny side up eggs. Mix the sauce in with a double amount of ketchup. It's like shrimp sauce, only it's on eggs, not shrimp.

Horse Radish Sauce is good on a big BLT on hot summer days with a tall glass of iced tea, and a wedge of lemon.

Re: Horseradish Sauce

I've seen people put ketchup on their eggs and I just can't bring myself to do it..

I might try horseradish sauce on a BLT tho..

Re: Horseradish Sauce

As I hike the country roads, I sometimes meet people along the way.

On one of these occasions, I met an elderly gentleman that was out digging in his garden. He was harvesting his horseradishes. We got to talking about horseradish, and he claimed to have his own recipe that his father handed down to him. His father had it handed to him by his father. From what I was able to understand, the recipe is an heirloom, having been passed along since before his ancestors came to "The New World" from Europe. He claimed that horseradishes have remained the same over the years. I asked him if he ever made horseradish sauce, rather than the prepared horseradish with the little bits and juice type. He assured me that he did, and presented a jar to me. I told him that I liked it on eggs. He asked, "With Ketchup"?

I'm talking bread, horseradish sauce, bread. That's it, no meat or fruit. Celery, OK. Maybe some onions too.
