There's a bar in Pewaukee called the Pickled Egg. Guess what they have?
I've had them before. The ones I've had seem a bit firmer than your regular hard boiled eggs. There was a bar near us not long ago that made their own pickled eggs and they made pickled veggies. If you ordered a pickled egg it came in a glass with the veggies. We always called it a pickled salad. The bar no longer makes the pickled eggs.
I love pickled pig's feet.. are pickled eggs similar in flavor?

Take one hard boiled egg, hand it to the woman you have lived with for the past thirty nine years. Ask, can you please peel this for me so I don't have stuff all over it? DONE!
I think that is supposed to say 96 calories, unless we are talking about eating the whole jar. My search on google said 80 calories, but eggs do come in different sizes.
Informative video. The rapid cooling separates the shell from the cooked egg. Alot of times the 'rapid cool method' is replaced by the 'let it cool method'.
Taste of Home magazine posted a recipe for hard boiling eggs. Hard-Cooked Eggs Recipe | Taste of Home Recipes
There you'll find a link to a tasty Egg Salad Sammy. An iced tea recipe would go along well with this summertime tradition.
Has anyone tried the pickled eggs recipe? Share a review.

Reason: ostalgia
I could go for some stinky hard boiled eggs right now. I've been meaning to make them for a while, but I wanted to buy an egg piercer to see if the works better.
My neighbor made over a dozen hard-boiled eggs for Easter... I'm not sure off-hand how long you boil an egg but she told me she boiled them for over 30 mins. That seems too long to me!

I boil my eggs for ten minutes if it's a small batch. If I'm doing a lot of them, like for deviled eggs, then I boil them for 15 minutes. Then I let them sit for five to ten more minutes in the hot water at which time I tap them with a spoon to crack the shells a bit. Then I put them right into cold water and let sit until cooled down. I run them under water as I peel them and the shell practically falls right off. Easy peasy.
And yes, older eggs do work better for some reason.

It depends. There are 2 methods you can make them with. One is to put the eggs in a bowl of warm water and add to the boiling water. The other is to put them in a pot of cold water and start to cook it until it boils.
I hardly ever make hard boiled eggs so I don't know the correct time. That's what Betty Crocker is for. I follow those directions.
