That was weird.. I got no video after 2:57 tho it appeared to be the end.
I've always had an interest in bees and beekeeping but am deathly allergic to honeybee stings. Been sent to the hospital a few times with those.
I've been stung by other types of bees and have a few scars from the experience. The venom literally ate a hole in my arm. One scar I've had since I was 16!
I do love honey, real honey that is.. hate the stuff that's labeled "honey food"!
Great to hear that Wisconsin has escaped the honey bee die-off for the most part.
Question: How do we utiltize the honey crystals left in the container after we've spread the honey? Can we remelt the substance?

If you talk to the animals they will talk to you, If you do not talk to them you will not know them. And what you do not know you will fear. What one fears, one destroys. ~Chief Dan George. (1899 - 1981)
LIQUID HONEY has been heated to melt the honey crystal, and filtered to remove foreign material and any solid crystals. At this point it wants to go back to the crystalline state. However, the filtering removes the nuclei (centers) around which crystals are likely to start. Although producers are careful not to damage the honey, heating can create a sharper taste, and inadvertently kills the yeast and enzymes.
Doug and Lee (the beekeepers) married sisters, who were both my high school sweet hearts. Looks like they got more honey than they bargained for.
Good Folks
Thanks to sciensational reader Ashalaya from Racine in Wisconsin, USA, we found out a really interesting chemistry fact:
Honey does not spoil.
This is perhaps one of the greatest properties of honey. You could place it anywhere for thousands of years and it will not spoil. In fact, edible honey was found in ancient Egyptian Pharaoh King Tut’s tomb!
Chance meeting with Doug and Lee, just recently. We had a conversation concerning the bees disappearing. They claimed their bees are all accounted for, and they might have a few more than they started the season with. Colonies of bees collapse because of poor hive condition. Another reason is the placement of the hives. The keeper must be sure to place the hives away from fields that are sprayed with pesticides.
The Honey Acres crew take pride in their product, and in order to do so, they must maintain the hives and the colonies to their own strict standards.
