1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
1 cup (packed) light brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
4 ounces English toffee candy (recommended: Heath or Skor bar), finely chopped
1 cup hazelnuts, toasted, husked, and chopped
1 (12-ounce) bag semisweet chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Line 2 heavy large baking sheets with parchment paper. Finely chop the oats in a food processor. Transfer the oats to a medium bowl. Mix in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and sugars in a large bowl until fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Add the flour mixture and stir just until blended. Stir in the toffee, hazelnuts, and chocolate chips.
For each cookie, drop 1 rounded tablespoonful of dough onto sheet, spacing 1-inch apart (do not flatten dough). Bake until the cookies are golden (cookies will flatten slightly), about 15 minutes. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and cool completely. (The cookies can be prepared 1 day ahead. Store airtight at room temperature.)
again, cant see the video from work, but i love homemade peanut butter cookies, made with chunky peanut butter & a tall glass of cold milk on the side mmm dang i want cookies now!
I remember when I was a kid...(wow, these stories always make me feel old. lol). .. Anyways, I remember many times coming in from school and my Mom would have home made cookies ready for us. She had a great Chocolate Chip Cookie but she also made awesome Peanut Butter Cookies too.
I always like to help her make cookies and the design on top of the Peanut Butter Cookie was my favorite thing to do with my fork.

Cookies was a big part of our life when I was growing up. My Mom was a Piano/Organ Teacher and every Christmas Season she would bake several thousand cookies to put in little gift boxes with some candies etc. to hand out to each of her many students.
I remember coming home to find her baking and baking and then on a Sunday we would all gather around and help her. All the little Christmas Trees had certain little colorful sprinkles, and the pink poinsettias had a cherry in the middle, and her fruit cookies had to have all the green and red cherries chopped up, etc. etc. Each cookie had it's own little theme each year.
Then she would have a big recital where everyone would bring a plate of cookies to set out and we would have couple of punch bowls full of punch. I always loved the fact that I helped set things up so we got to hold back a few cookies from our favorite ones that came in. lol
Oh those were the great cookie days.....

There are so many good cookies. I like chocolate chip with a glass of milk. I like peanut butter, my grandma's recipe for chewy ginger snaps, my mom's hickory nut cookies, peanut blossoms (with Hershey's Kiss), pinwheels, chocolate, my mom's jam filled cookies, and more. I love cookies!
I remember getting really good cookies from a place near where I used to work. They were chocolate with toffee bits, pecans and chocolate chips. Those were so good, I never stopped at one.
Here's a company out of Oconomowoc that makes hand shaped cookies that look like fruits and veggies. They all have different flavors. They have gift tins also. Someday I want to try some.

I don't usually buy too many store bought cookies, I prefer homemade. However, I love those little pink and white carousel cookies from Ripon Good.
Not long until National Cookie Day comes around again. December 4th is designated as National Cookie Day.
So, be sure to remember to enjoy whatever aspects of the cookie is most fascinating, on December 4th, National Cookie Day.
Peanut Butter is a favorite. I must remember to have a supply of Peanut Butter cookies on hand when National Cookie Day, December 4th, three days before the Feast Day Saint Nicholas, also known as Santa Claus, who, by the way, enjoys a good Peanut Butter Cookie on the 4th of December, National Cookie Day.

Less than 4 months until December 4th, National Cookie Day. Remember to lay a hearty supply of your favorite cookie in. Tell all of your neighbors that December 4th is National Cookie Day, and they should have an abundant supply of their favorite (or not so favorite) cookies on hand for the celebration of National Cookie Day, December 4th. It's an annual thing. Just to be clear, December 4th is National Cookie Day, and it happens on an annual basis. Same day, every year...December 4th.
Oh...OK. National Cookie is December 4th. Same day every year. It's an annual thing, as it happens that if you find yourself looking at a calendar, and notice that the date is December 4th, you can be assured that it is definitely National Cookie Day and that you should be sure to enjoy a cookie on that day, be it your favorite of your friends and neighbors favorite.
As I may have posted earlier on this thread, you can certainly be assured that the 4th day of December is National Cookie Day. Every year, no dispute. That's when it happens. Annually. Year in, year out.
