Tried the newest (and hottest) alternative to buying and selling on eBay yet? It's called Bonanzle and, while eBay as been struggling lately, Bonanzle continues to grow at an amazing rate. Bonanzle recently passed the one million item mark with 170,000 unique visitors this past December.
From Mashable: Sellers have their own store front, called booths, where they can chat with visitors and display their items for sale. Sellers also have the option to import items from eBay and Craigslist, create a “bonanza” (one-time sale), have Bonanzle help set item prices, and customize selling preferences. According to Bill Harding, Bonanzle’s Founder, “Our seller’s have used these tools to negotiate prices with buyers, answer questions immediately, or sometimes just chit chat about the history and origins of their items.”
A comment from the Mashable article regarding Bonanzle:
As far as Bonanzle goes I have made many many sales, formed friendships, saved a lot of money by not having to pay to list, no mandatory membership fees, and small final value fees when your items sell. I have always had any questions I have had answered by Bill & Mark same day I ask them, usually within minutes to an hour or so with a personal response from them, no form pre-typed emails from the site.
Bonanzle where it is now has far surpassed where eBay was when it was at this stage, I think that speaks great amounts right there. However I don’t see Bill Harding ever making the mistakes eBay did. He is the type of person who truly cares about his users and proves it over and over again.
Bonanzle is simple, free to list, friendly, fun. I just could not ask for anything more. I have been absolutely thrilled with everything about Bonanzle and just to think how young this grassroots site is still… can you imagine a year or more down the road. Bonanzle will be the household name no longer eBay!
I was thinking I'd start listing a few things tomorrow (today, actually as it's Sunday already) and see how they went. Depends how my time goes.. may not have time til next week.
I really hesitate to list at eBay anymore now that sellers can't leave feedback for buyers.
My husband wasn't happy when they changed that either. They can give you a bad feedback, but you can't give them one. In some cases the buyer is a real pain in the neck.
Exactly.. I got an undeserved negative from a buyer who complained shipping took too ling when it was New Year's holiday week..

One other feature I like about Bonanzle is they integrate your booth or product feed with Google and walk you thru the process so beside the on-site traffic, your booth is automatically scanned by Google on a schedule you set.
