Collecting Cookie Cutters
This week (Dec 1st - Dec 7th) is National Cookie Cutter Week so I thought I'd talk a bit about collecting vintage cookie cutters.
One of the best things about collecting cookie cutters is they are something you can both display and use!
Alot of people collect cookie cutters according to a certain theme. Some collect certain shapes, some collect cutters associated with certain holidays. Some only collect metal cookie cutters and others may prefer plastic.
Even if you don't actually use the cookie cutters from your collection, they can make a nice display in the kitchen or dining room.
I personally prefer collecting Halloween or Christmas cookie cutters. My aunt always made holiday cookies in the shape of a witch or Santa so collecting these types of cutters evoke certain pleasant memories.
Cookie cutters can be valuable too. Many early figural tin cutters have sold for high prices.
Do you collect cookie cutters?
