I'd like you to meet my cats, and I encourage other theBubbler members to introduce their cats on this thread!
My husband and I have three cats, Maverick (The Puma), Finner and Lil' Hank.
Maverick was our first. He's 16 lbs. of solid muscle. Despite his tough appearance, he's our most affectionate cat. He always has to snuggle and lick you, like a dog. We call him "The Puma" because he's like keeping a jungle cat in the house. Maverick is from the Washington County Humane Society. Maverick was surrendered because he was "destructive" and "didn't listen." Apparently his former owners didn't know what a cat was.
We adopted Finner after seeing his photo on the Dane County Humane Society website. Finner has a sad history. He was found abandoned in a Madison apartment complex. He was returned to the shelter by several owners because he vomits. There is no physical problem with him (we think it's separation anxiety). Finner was staying with the most wonderful foster parents when we adopted him. We have to clean up puke every now and then, but I can't imagine not having Finner. He's sweet and shy, and I know it has taken a lot for him to open up.
Our newest addition is Lil' Hank, a stray kitten found under my husband's parent's porch. He's often known as "Puma 2.0" because he's just as affectionate as Maverick, and even more destructive! He likes to crawl into the trash can and tear up anything in a plastic bag. He has a purr that can be heard a mile away. Maverick has adopted Lil' Hank as his son, and no doubt he's influencing our new baby in a bad way!
You can see pictures of our cats on our photos page. Our cats are our children, and I can't imagine not having any of them. When we have our own house, I hope to become a foster parent to care for special needs cats before adoption. I'd love to have a cat rescue if I could support it. I always used to joke that I'd become an eccentric "cat lady" someday, and that's certainly coming true!

Our first cat is Baxtor, we thought she a was a he when 1st arrived and left the name. She was born in a tractor trailer and dropped off to a pet shop with all her brother and sisters. I took 3 of them home and two went to a friend. She was picked due to her color and runty size and one white toe.
Fast crazy and wild cat. This is my wifes cat but she is my baby. She likes to hunt, look at herself in the mirror, fetch like a dog, chase fake mice, sees ghosts?, sleeps in hiding places that are not there, fun cat! This cat loves chicken. She thinks she is all that and a bag of chips(the queen cat). She likes to beat up Rudy also, when he's not looking, which is alot.
Our second cat is a male and I did not want him because I liked Baxtor.
Now he is my buddy. His name is Rudy...named after my wifes grandpa. He is my cat but I find him getting attention from my wife alot. He is a big fat lazy cat but has been seen body slamming mice that cant be caught by Baxtor. If a mouse ran by his face he take a nap. He love his massive belly rubbed and loved to be brushed and nap. He has a snack AT 3pm every day and more if he could. He likes to lay on anything humped to support that belly. He is grandmas cat when we are gone. He's on a diet but cant read the diet instructions that say exercise and eat small portions. He is a talker. Meows and sings? He was born on a farm and only hunts when is attacked.
I will list my menagerie by name , age and color! We have eight in the house right now.
The oldest is Peter Pan, he is 15 yrs this year and king of the house. He is pure black except for a white patch on his chest. he is about 18 lbs
The second is Chester( my buddy), He is a long haired tabby cat and is the most spoiled animal I ever had. He is 6yrs now and just loves life as the prince of our domain. Also weighs in at about 18 lbs.
The third is Squeaky, also a tabby , but short haired. He is the all around cat, in play, sleep, food, cuddling, he does it all very well.He is a closet laser light freak. The runt weighs 9 lbs.
The fourth is Bumbles(as in the old rudolf cartoon) He is a mostly white but also has tabby and tortoise markings. He is a very big cat that was only a kitten for about 1 month of his life. Bumbles weighs in at a very buff 17lbs. all muscle.
The four other memebers of our extended cat family belong to my son who is recently back from the Air Force.
They are; Demon a black cat who over cuddles
Little bit who is a short haired tabby/siamese cat that will play with any one or anything. Can jump 7-8 feet at will.
Then come our two little girls; Katie is a very petite little tabby and the lover of the group unless provoked.
and last but not least; Midget tabby and white at about 5 lbs along with Katie.
These felines are gracious enough to allow us to share their house and occassionally the furniture,as long as we feed them and give them scritches.
Introducing my cat, Sis:
She arrived with her brother when they were both kittens. I wanted a pair, though her brother's life ended under a tractor when they were building a new house next door. Sis is still with us 12 years later. She is a white Siamese mix, with some spots and tabby marks on her tail. She grew up with my 3 rambunctious sons and various other cats, parakeets, ferrets, dogs and snakes the boys brought home over the years, taking it all in stride. There were a few times the commotion was too much and she disappeared for a few days. My neighbors told me she was sleeping in the neighborhood flood drains and living on mice from their garages. She is an excellent mouser, though partially blind from a congenital problem. Sis deserves the best - she is a great friend.
We brought Sis to Chicago temporarily. She hunkered right in and enjoys sitting on the deck and mousing around the condo. I bring her home to Wisconsin for weekends - she is a good traveler but very vocal so she travels in a cage in back of the truck. When we get to the house, she jumps right out and checks out her old territory right away. It's been a while since she was home and I noticed there are many rodents moving in again - she is going to have a great feast next time she visits.
Her complete story is on her own website! All her photos are on her site:
Spot is my cat, she's very unique, regal and tough, amazonian almost in stature with her long legs that can strong-arm through many doors and boxes and such.
Spot can play fetch for hours. She begs, sits, lays down and does high-fives which are really cute in and of itself. Here are some photos of Spot, as well as a couple of the other cats listed here. Just click the photo below for more pics...
Then there's Tricksy, Susans cat. The striped grey-black cat, who's only real trick so far was sneaking out one time, then a while later popped out a kitten. She was SO skinny we hadn't realized she was pregnant! LOL!! And hence Little Bear was born, the only Male cat we have, and need to rectify THAT situation soon. Tricksy is the only one who comes running TO the vacuum when it is turned on, and loves water. She's my bath buddy, likes to play with the water.
Then there is Dora. Yes, no coincidence. She is a gorgeous cat with Maine Coon in her. She is VERY loyal to Diane, and follows her everywhere. If Diane is outside, Dora is right in the window watching her. Diane thought it'd be neat for Dora to have a playmate that she could call Boots if it had socked feet. So, when I rescued one from a drowning and certain death, I took her home, and walla.... Dora and Boots.
Susan got a kitten, small Tricksy look-a-like, and named her Sissy. She's adorable, loves chasing my cursor around the monitor here, and
And that is our cats. They like to tunel under covers, play, and be naughty when they can, especially when a bug is on the ceiling. But they are ALL very healthy and happy.
Spot
Dora
Boots
Tricksy
Little Bear
Sissy

We have 2 cats that rule our home now. We had only 1 until recently and without even thinking we would ever have 2 we ended up with a savannah cat a few months ago. lol
My youngest daughter always wanted one and looking in the bubbler's classifieds she found someone that had not one but 3 for free! Well we knew we would never hear the end of it from her until we looked into it. Well we looked into it and this is what happened. lol
Turned out that a friend of mine was recently looking for a cat since her cat passed away, and we had another friend that just moved into a new apartment and a giant cat lover. I told them about the 3 cats and they were so excited along with my daughter. So we contacted the owner, saw pictures, researched all about savannah cats, and next thing I know it was....off we went to adopt 3 cats! lol
We decided to pick the one that was marked most like the orginal 1st generation. He is a purebred 4th generation. I will have to admit that through out the years I have had many cats but this one is by far the most different cat ever. lol lol
Our beautiful Lily has been with us for many years now since she was a baby. She is my youngest daughter's cat. This cat totally loves our daughter, they share a really close bond.
I have four cats. "Mercedes", a nine year old tortoise shell. "Felix", a seven year old long haired black and white. "Sophie", a two year old gray tiger. And, "Angel", a one year old black tabby. I would love to post pictures, but I don't know how!!
You to be in standard editor to post pics. Basic does not offer all the little tool buttons you need.
I upload all my photo's to photobucket.com that I post here. Once uploaded I grab the url of the pic and come back to the Bubbler and click on the image button (looks like square box with mountain on it)
that will open up another box that you paste your url into
ok it and it will drop down to your post
then say whatever you want and post.
Ok....I am so happy to show off my cat children. Remember all my felines were rescues or strays that were close to death and I nursed back to health. They were given their shots, checked for feline leuk, and spayed or neutered. All this was not any cheap feat by any means. But I wouldn't trade any for the world. After almost losing three to sickness...(Taylor last year had liver failure and didn't have the weekend to live..but I refused to give up and through force feedings she is happy and healthy today. Tony had a viral infection which caused his temp to skyrocket for three days in the 106+ range. He was so sick the vet wanted to keep him there for intervienious (sp) fluids but gave him only a 5% chance of surviving the weekend. I said if he is going to die (same as Taylor) they will do it at home knowing they were loved. After 24 hrs with constant Pedialyte by dropper for hyrdration..he is perfectly healthy today. Third and not least is Kitty Kitty. Kitty Kitty has been on a rocky and very expensive road. He has been diagnosed with Feline Diabetes and how gets daily insulin shots. I am determined that because they are sick or need help, they are like any living thing that breathes...they should get the help.)
Anyhow here are my beloved cats:
Taylor and Tucker (they were two kittens, brother and sister, rescued by my sister who found them after they were being mistreated and abused.....Tucker is the one in the cat tower:
Kali (calico), Shadow (black/white) and Laci (cream/white) (missing Tony..grey..who died) a littler of four kittens found as babies after their mom died being hit by a car. We were working a second job at a Ginseng Garden and found them. Never had the heart to separate them:
Oreo (story behind Oreo is my sister and her husband were driving home one night in a bad thunderstorm in the country. My sister noticed two eyes and begged her husband to stop. She said here kitty kitty and out ran Oreo. He was so tiny, fit in the palm of your hand. Drenched, full of fleas, ear mites and a really bad cut on his bottom lip which was very painful and hard for him to eat. She called me and I went out to help her but turned out that he was beyond the car she could offer him so he came home with me. He was fed Pedialyte and baby foods because he could only lick til his lip healed. Here he is today:
Babys came from my other sister. Her daughter found him and wanted to keep him. Problem being he was having trouble pooping in the litter box. After being kicked out to fend for himself by my brother-in-law this little kitten needed some time and he just wanted to kill him. So my sister called me up crying that he was going to take him to the woods and to keep her daughter from losing it I agreed to try him out here. Must just of been too much stress there because he never has had one accident here. He is a beautiful cat let me tell ya.
On to Kitty Kitty. My cat with diabetes. He has given me a run for my money. A co-worker found him in dead of winter, skin and bones living under her trailer.
Baysiby is a muted calico girl. Someone dropped her mom and other siblings off on a friends door step. At the time I got her, she was only my 4th cat. She was more of I always wanted a muted calico. Seeing she was abandened I felt she needed to come home with me.
Gizmo is who started this whole family of cats. After losing my childhood friend and companion (Garfield, rest your soul) of 21 years it took me three years to get another. My daughter wanted a kitten so bad for Christmas one year. My husband told me that I can't grieve forever for Garfield and punish my daughter for not letting her have one. So I went to a local Humane Society and picked out Gizmo. All the cats were sick there with a feline virus and they were still selling them. I took him to the vet immediately and the vet was so disturbed to know they were still selling them in the condition they were in. He gave Gizmo no chance at survival because we was one sick baby kitten. I think you know by now that I don't give up. Well, time and lots of love proves anything is possible...here he is:
Josi is a siamese mix. Blue eyes and cross eyed. Josi came to us by three kids who were standing on the street corner trying to find their kittens new homes due to their dad not letting them stay anymore. He threatened the girls they either they found them new homes or else they would die. Josi was the last one of the bunch and story be told, she is here:
Last but not least is Tony. He is a 23 lb big boy. I almost lost him and bawled for days. Tony was found by my daughter's friend. He was stuck in an old shed full of glass and nails, old wood, etc. No one could get near him. I patiently waited for hours to get him to come out and he did for me. A little boy, full of fleas, ear mites, etc. He doesn't eat more than the others, just has a slow metabolism. He is very very stocky and the vet is not worried about his weight, even though he could stand to lose a few lbs. wink
Well, I hope you enjoyed meeting the feline part of my family. I do have a house full but love every second of it. No, I am not a horder.....I know my limits and I am well there. But my house is clean, minus some pet hair and I host things all the time here with people being amazed on how you can't tell I own one let alone 12. I love them all to death.

Oh my gosh!!!! Every time I went to a picture I thought....ok, now this one is sooo beautiful, this one is my favorite...and then the next picture, and I was in love all over again! lol
Oh I don't envy all your work and cost that comes along with so many kittys but I do envy all the joy you must have with all the love you surely receive from your 'feline family'.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Had a lot of fun looking and now I have to call my youngest daughter in to see this. She loves all cats!
They get the best of what I can offer them. I think the biggest cost I endure is cat litter. I buy Fresh Step Scoopable. And believe me, I have tried them all. This is the best by far I have found. Not cheap at ten bucks a box and I have multiple litter boxes. But if they weren't here, they would have been dead. The way I see it, they deserve a happy life. I can't save them all, but I am trying to do my part.
I have all sorts of pictures. The things they get themselves into. Or the way they sleep sometimes. It is never boring here. Sure my kids are in school, but hey...I have a lot more "Kids" at home to keep me on my toes. And believe me, fights break out! Then they are all lovie lovie again.
Also one more thing..if you see the trio, Kali, Shadow and Laci (the one that died was pure grey...like Tucker). Their mom was a calico too and had 4 that look completely different. But Kali has two different front legs...one like Shadow, the other like Laci. She is so beautiful I think.
Your pictures (and comments on each) is up on my list with my favorite top topic comments on the bubbler. Really enjoyed it all.
I showed my youngest daughter and she just totally loved the pictures also.
So here are our favorites:
Mine: I simply fell in love with the top kitty, (cream/blue eyes), but I could not pick just 'one' cat photo. I think there is a 3 way tie for first place here.
Kali with the two different legs and the big boy 23 pound kitty had to be on the top of the list too.
My daughter agreed but also had to include Baysiby the muted calico girl, and Josi, siamese mix.
Of course they are all so cute though.
Just wondering are Taylor and Tucker part or full Russian Blues? I had a full blooded Russian at one time and he looked just like Taylor's picture.
Pk....first off I am honored to know you like my comments. I was afraid to at first post because of all the horror stories you hear of people who have "too" many animals. I have nothing to hide and feel all my pets are very well cared for and loved. So thank you.
Second, I never have seen a Russian Blue but heard about them. I have been told they do look like they have some sort of that trait. The one who really did look like one is Tony...the brother to my trio that died. It is funny thought, Taylor and Tucker have different kind of fur and different faces and I can tell from a mile away who is who. But then you have others (even my own kids) say who is that Taylor or Tucker?
I love your pictures Kelly! Gizmo looks just like my Finner, and Tony matches my Maverick. I am hoping Maverick will stay at 16 lbs. and not get as big as Tony!

Just by reading your posts one can certainly tell you love your f. f. (feline family)
I remember years ago when I was just married (my first time) we had two beautiful female cats. Well they both decided to have kittens at the same time and we had a house full. lol. Lots of fun we had! My best memory was coming home from work and walking in to all the kittens climbing my living room curtains at the same time. Looked like I had a new style of kitty kurtains. lol Needless to say after that we found out that 'indoor' cats were the best and never let them out to roam and find boyfriends again.
We have two cats right now and love them both. There is just something happy about a home that has a cat in it. So I can imagine all the happiness that must be in your house. lol
Please share more pics when you can or perhaps add them in the photo gallery on the bubbler. There you can add as many as you want and not worry about putting to many in the forums.
