Re: Forever homes needed.

Wow when I saw Pasha I had a feeling this kitty was going to go fast!....

I think he was on for only a few hours and is on his way to Chicago already! I really wish all the cats could find a great home that quickly.

Re: Forever homes needed.

ADOPTED!
I went home to Deerfield, Wi.!

TOTALLY CUTE!!! PICTURE SAYS IT ALL.

BOODLES...is a darling SEALPOINT SNOWSHOE SIAMESE KITTEN. He is 5 months old, neutered and what else can we say but UNBELIEVABLY CUTE!!! Boodles is pretty much your standard young male kitty; INTENSELY active, a whirlwind of playfulness and way too busy for much else than getting into things as much as possible! He is affectionate and sweet natured but then BOOM, he's off on another adventure! If you have another YOUNG cat to keep this boy entertained, then this might be the kitty for you! He would be way too much for any timid or scared or older cat that would not appreciate his rip-roaring purrsonality. Dogs would probably be ok as would older kids who would enjoy his playful nature. He would be too much for small kids. Kittens go FAST in this rescue, so if you are interested, CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY OR SOMEONE ELSE WILL. The kitten adoption fee applies. BEING FOSTERED IN MADISON, WI.

Re: Forever homes needed.

I have always been fond of tortoiseshell cats. They are all simply beautiful. This kitty is certainly a beauty too.

ADOPTED!
I went home to Appleton, Wi.!

LEXI...is a darling TORTOISESHELL PERSIAN. She is 3 years old, spayed and has a full, medium-care coat, "doll" face and bright gold eyes. She is around 7 pounds. Lexi came in from Chicago Animal Control as a stray and this poor little girl looked like she had not been cared for in a while. But with good food and lots of TLC in foster care, she has flourished and is now ready to go home! Lexi is a little shy at first with new people and situations, but once she settles in she is just a LOVE BUG. She cuddles and purrs and has been a delight to care for. She is also very playful and will fly after a kitty teaser any time! Lexi is fine with other easy-going cats. Loud dogs or small kids would probably be too much for her, but older respectful kids would be great. FOSTERED IN MILWAUKEE.

Re: Forever homes needed.

ADOPTED!
I went home to Sheboygan, wi.!

It's sad to read that a pet was given up because the family was tired of caring. Hopefully the next home will be much better and give Cody the love that he deserves.

CODY...is a super FLAME POINT HIMALAYAN. He is neutered, front declawed and has a lovely "doll" face, full thick coat and bright blue eyes. Cody came in with CASSIDY when their people were just tired of caring for them (and this happens far more than you would think). Cody is a big boy, over 10 pounds, but is very healthy and enjoys toys and moderate activity. His foster mom says he LOVES belly rubs and is easy to groom. This is important because he does have a thick, cottony coat that is going to need either daily grooming or kept clipped in a short, easy "lion cut." He is a bit more timid than Cassidy but warms quickly in a loving environment. The best home for him would be quiet, experienced with the maintenance needs of long-haired pets, and with no small kids or loud dogs. Other cats are fine. Cody is 8 years YOUNG and has many more years of love to give! The reduced "mature" adoption fee applies. BEING FOSTERED IN SHEBOYGAN, WI.

Re: Forever homes needed.

That is sad Patti. Kind of like a story here I found out about Friday. I found out from a friend of mine that someone took their dog to my local vet, a purebred Sheepdog. A beautiful, well mannered, healthy, loving dog. Very young, I want to say like 10 months old. Big boy though....like 85 lbs. Anyhow, they wanted the vet to put the dog down because he keeps jumping up and knocking over their toddler. They wanted to vet to euthenize this poor dog because he was big and knocking over the child. Of course the vet couldn't do it but kept the dog and was going to call the Sheepdog rescue. Well, he was adopted by a local police officer (as his daugher is Job Shadowing at the clinic for High School). The vet neutered the dog for free and a local pet groomer gave him a haircut and the whole ball of wax on the house too. For people to just give up their pets because of something like this or what Patti said, need to have a reality check. If it is in the best interest of the pet to give it up because you don't want the hassle anymore of the maintenence or whatever the reason, so be it. Someone else will probably think the pet you don't want could be their best friend. But to say I am going to kill you because you are big and clumsy is just wrong.

Re: Forever homes needed.

I personally think there should be laws/rules set governing the issue of putting an animal down. There are laws against being cruel to an animal but no laws in place concerning taking a dog or cat to the vet to be put down just because you don't want to take care of them anymore.

Make sure you don't kick your dog in front of a police or you can get arrested but take the same healthy animal to the vet and you can ask him to kill it. Is there something wrong here?

It's great that we have animal rescues to come to the aid of these poor animals that need a place to be safe. And let's not forget Kelly that has a wonderful rescue in place to help unwanted fish.

Every animal should have the right to live without fear of being put to sleep just because their 'owner' doesn't want them anymore.

This kitty is sooo cute! How can anyone keep her in the bathroom all the time!

HARRIET...is a lovely GOLD PERSIAN. She is 5 years, spayed and has been shaved into a neat "lion cut." She has huge GREEN eyes and is simply ADORABLE!! Harriet is one of the tiniest little girls we've had in for a while, weighing in at a whopping 4 1/2 pounds! She came from a home where she spent most of her life locked in a bathroom by someone who did not care for her properly and her coat was just a mess when she came into rescue. Fortunately good food, lots of TLC and a shave job has changed all that. Harriet is now a happy, clean, healthy little girl who wants to go somewhere where she will be loved and doted on! She is fine with other easy-going cats and would do best in a quiet, adult home experienced with the maintenance needs of Persians (her coat is very cottony and thick and will need lots of grooming when it grows out). Please, someone take this little doll home!! FOSTERED IN MADISON, WI.

Re: Forever homes needed.

ADOPTED!
I went home to Hales Corners, Wi.!!

I] Here is another upsetting story. This poor kitty without claws was found outside close to being killed. How wonderful that a miracle saved her and she was discovered before anything happened to her. She so deserves a good family and I hope she finds one soon. [/i]

ANGELICA...is a stunning BLUEPOINT RAGDOLL. She is 5 years old, spayed, front declawed and just had a full dental completed. Her medium-length coat is full and fluffy and she has a very PINK nose and sky-blue eyes. As gorgeous and wonderful as this pretty girl is, it's hard to believe that she was found cowering in a dumpster behind an animal shelter. In fact the dumpster was about to be lifted into the garbage truck but fortunately the operator saw movement and stopped the procedure before Anglica was crushed. So we can't tell you anything about her past, other than her previous people obviously didn't care about her. But that's what rescue is here for and this lovely lady needs a new start! Anglica is a quiet, sensitive, sweet little girl who enjoys grooming and attention. She is a bit shy at first and startles at sudden noises (which is to be expected), but once she settles into a new place and gets used to her people she's just a darling cat. The best home for her would be low-key, calm and looking for a similar type of feline. She is fine with other quiet pets when properly introduced. Small kids and loud dogs would be too much for her. FOSTERED IN MADISON, WI.

Re: Forever homes needed.

ADOPTED!
I went home to Milwaukee, Wi.!

This is the type of stories that really makes me angry! I only wish that the previous owners could be fined and somehow told they could never, ever own a pet of any kind ever again.

Just to THROW AWAY a beautiful defenseless cat is beyond wrong. It is down right a mean and rotten thing to do to a poor animal. How hard is it to just take a cat to the local shelter at least? Somewhere where he will at least be safe if they no longer wanted him?

Hope Jake finds a wonderful home soon.

JAKE...is an elegant SEALPOINT SIAMESE. He is neutered, front declawed and has had a full exam and blood panel done to assure health. This boy's wonderful Purrsonality was not enough to keep him from being thrown outside by his less than caring people. Neighbors found him wandering around crying for food and being beaten up by feral cats (and with no front claws he has no defenses). They asked his owners about the situation and they told them to find a farm to leave Jake. For a kitty who had been an indoor cat his entire life, this was a truly terrible thing. Compounding the sadness is that Jake is 12 years old...can you imagine leaving a cat like this outside in a strange place with no ability or experience to care for himself? Jake is safely with us now and he needs people who will actually be concerned for his welfare instead of just throwing him away. He is a LOVING boy who gives hugs and head bumps to anyone who is willing to give him some attention. Jake is talkative and interactive...a gentle, sweet-natured soul who absolutely doesn't deserve to be where he is now. He is fine with other gentle pets that won't overwhelm or chase him. Older respectful kids would be great. The Siamese is the longest-lived breed out there...he could easily have another DECADE of love to give...especially given how healthy he is! The reduced "mature" adoption fee applies. BEING FOSTERED IN MADISON, WI.

MAGGIE...is an extremely sweet BLUE CREAM PERSIAN. She is 5 years old, spayed and has an easy, silky coat in peach and gray and bright gold eyes. This 5 POUND tiny feline is absolutely ADORABLE and has a great purrsonality to match! She LOVES LOVES LOVES to be brushed and will be your best friend if you will only bring out the grooming tools! Maggie loves to be by her people and always wants to be a part of what ever is going on. She is not necessarily a lap cat, but is super affectionate and likes to sit next to you to be sure you see she is there! She is playful but not overly active. Maggie is fine with other cats and probably dogs that would ignore her. She would be ok with respectful older children. BEING FOSTERED IN GURNEE, IL.

Re: Forever homes needed.

Patti, that is wonderful news. Those stories are so sad those those cats only deserve the best life has to offer them here on out. Funny thing about animals. How they can feel pain, hurt, sadness.....but they are the quickest to forgive too. Because they can't talk doesn't mean they don't have a story they would like us to know. Like, we just want to be loved. How easy is that?

Re: Forever homes needed.

Love the blue eyes and the coloring of this kitty.

RANDOLPH...is a FUN SEALPOINT HIMALAYAN. He is around 3 years old, neutered and has a lovely "doll" face and bright blue eyes. Randolph is currently sporting a dreadful haircut which you can see on his video. However keep in mind (like you have to when your own stylist does a bad job) IT WILL ALL GROW OUT. And when it does, this will be a truly GORGEOUS KITTY! Randolph came into rescue badly matted which was why his coat had to be cut down. He's a fairly good-sized guy, probably 8 pounds, and will probably be a solid 10 pounds when completely filled out. He is outgoing and active and loves to play. Because he came from a cattery situation, he is a bit head-shy (some breeders handle their cats roughly and this is commonly something we see). However just with a little TLC from his foster mom, Randolph is really warming up and learning that head and neck massages can be a GOOD thing. He gets along great with other cats and probably gentle dogs. The best home for him would be experienced with the maintenance needs of Persians and Himmies and be also willing to give this nice boy time to settle into living in a home. All he's ever experienced is a cage and he's LOVING being out and about, but it can be a bit scary at first too! FOSTERED IN KENOSHA, WI.
